just got the sample for this, looks ok, sound is good, i can see why ppl think its a telecine rip or something, there does seem to be some flicker

6.5- bit grainy
9- nice and clear
8- movie was nice for a trilogy (saw it in the cinema)

If you actually payed any attention during these movies you would notice a resemblence between TEG's DVDScr's and Centropy FS DVDRips. Gee do they both got hidden marks in them . TEG obviously has a faster source, which means they dont have menu's . Im sure you can figure it out. The wonderful rules which noone cares about anymore states "all retail must have menu"

I have burned mutiple DVDScr from TEG in the past as they are retail picture , just not mastered with menu. Techically TEG could release all their SVCD/XviD as DVDRips and DVDR as DVDScr but they dont.

Now they just released phantom of the opera dvdscr 5 weeks after it went wide , but blade / trinity is 7 weeks , so it must be a telecine.

Anyway im not flamming anyone here but everyone needs to wake up and not worry about all the politics and newbies in the scene.

Hopefully this ended people thinking TEG's DVDScr are TC's.

As for this DVDscr , usual TEG , no marks , not their best but definatly DVD Source. DVDR was PAL but doesnt matter to me , new dvd players play both PAL/NTSC .

i cant quite see how you can claim that the 'dvdscr' is far better... if this is a dvdscr, there is NO reason for people to chose this over the tc, because while im not saying for sure if the 'dvdscr' IS a tc or not (which is what the debate seems to be about...) one thing i CAN see, is that the tc looks equally as good as the dvdscr.

On the first of the two jpegs it clearly shows how dark the actual TELECiNE is vs the DVDScreener. 2nd set of jpegs show how washed the colors are on the TELECiNE vs the DVDScreener.

Damn it. Guys have you seen both releases or not?

The quality of the mislabeled "DVDSCR" (TC) is by far better compared to the old TeleCine. The new release has better colors, a much better contrast and a correct aspect ratio. The old TC has a bad AR, washed out colors and a very bad contrast (too dark) and best for last, it's not a reencode (hardcoded subtitles like in the first scene with the pyramid are in English and not in French).

I won't make any more screenshots for this, believe it or not.

I really doubt this is a DVD-Screener, the more i see of it, the less im convinced, just because it better than the last TC doesn't mean anything, the last one was very poor, and looked more TS to me anyway.

This has nothing to do with Scene Politics, as i dont believe in most of them, its about quality, and this isnt the greates quality, and one of the worse DVD-Screeners, if it is, that i have seen.

Absolutely right!

As you can see on the two screenshots, the quality of the wrong labeled "DVDSCR" is by far better. Nuke the "DVDSCR" for the mentioned reason, it won't change the fact that the "DVDSCR" is first choice... stupid rules

just thinking here, if they tryed to fiddle a TC and pass it off as a DVDscr.
Why not use the DD5.1 from the Blade.III.Trinity.DVDR.TELECiNE-NOX?

That said, the qualerty is not as good as a normal DVDscr but the best print of this movie so far, so its ok by me

TEG-VCD knew about the qualerty and that it would get this talk.

its an internal company copy.. spread for internal use.. there for a telecine.. but since the final mastering gets done by the same machine u could can it a screener..

actually most movies are telecine's unless the original master was recorded digital.. and well then they use that..


but this is a great screener tc pressed on dvd..

so quite bitchin and rate it..

i say 8 for picture.. yes the final version will probable be better
for sound 8 .. yes the final version will probable be better like dts and 5.1..
and yes the movie SUCKS! 2 crap the first 20 minutes (maybe even 10 are nice and the last 20 maybe 10) so 40 minutes is nice.. the rest is below any standard.. in other words a CRAPPY movie

still my thnxx go's ou to teg.. u did once again an amazing job.. by handing us this quality at this time.. thnxx and keep em coming.. as for what they are labled.. who cares.. there great..
love em... the quality is far above any version that would be available in the next few weeks..

Dunno if its a TC, but it aint a DVDrip.

As a TC 9/7/5 (not as dark as ther other P.O.S. TC, but worse sound)

As a DVDscr 2/5/5

Still the best copy IMO of a crappy movie ive prolly invested waaaay too much time in.
