BHP has pretty bad picture quality most of the time, especially on their *complete* releases. It's most likely CCE, but too many extras just kill picture quality.

From my understanding, the release was actually nuked because it isn't a retail R3, it was a PDVD (which is a telecine or high quality telesync). The whole DVD-Shrink came after the initial nuke, and was prolly just used to remove extras, as the NFO said "untouched" video.

But DVD-Shrink really doesn't look too good when you get a larger image and under higher compression rates. On a standard home CRT TV, you'll probably not even bat an eye, but anything larger with at least a 720P resolution (like most rear projection TVs out there now), you'll really notice the difference.

Ok m8 well I have a 3ghz processor, 1gb ddr and decent graphics not that it really matters and it takes me just over 2 hours to do a full analysis of say a 6gb dvdr and to encode. Now if I knocked off the features and stuff then I wouldn’t be touching the quality and quite a few times this has happened, with groups that have released films using dvd shrink just to remove protection. Then why should they be knocked for using dvd shrink??? When really they haven’t touched the quality but just removed the protection. I for one always keep features etc and have watched quite a few of these type of dvds on a 44” rear projected screen and haven’t seen any problems…

If you like DVD Shrink and see no problems with it, then thats your taste in quality. No matter what I say will change your preferences.
Personally I enjoy better then that, and I enjoy professional work done with professional tools (just like hollywood uses).
So if you can't see a difference, then your in good shape in d/l DVD Shrink releases. But personally, I dont think its worth my time/effort/credits to download something a 10 year old can do on a free program that looks like crap to me.

Im not sure why the quality of DVD Shrink video is being discussed here, especially when this is supposed to be Untouched.

I agree on people not noticing the differences on a standard CRT, especially as i still know alot who still have 21" 4:3 TV's, and think DVD-Shrink is perfect, but i personally notice everything and i only have a 36" CRT (not keen on Plasma or Rear Projection, the quality is still pretty poor) though DVD Shrink does have a place, beit Remving the first audio stream or Re-encoding Menu's.

Couple of things that's buggin me about this release first off

1)DVD Shrink makes the video 4.36gb this one is 4.01gb how did they make it go so low

2)If this is a TS encoded to DVD like a lot of pdvd's are how come they have all the menu's,scene selection etc

Cheers

Graham
