Converting XviD and Divx To Vcd or Svcd

Is it easy or possible to convert XviD and Divx to a format to burn onto a CD-R?

Could I just use Nero to convert them. See I dont want to download a file first in Divx or XviD format and then have it not workable.

STD Free

If there's an svcd version available then I'd recommend downloading that over the divx/xvid version. Re-encoding will just lower quality.

I'd recommend you go to www.doom9.org, that'll show you all about encoding etc.

And try using the search button, this question (and others of a similar vein) are the most common asked on this forum

Ok. Well let me start from scratch. First of all, i assume the right codecs nesseary to play the vids. If you dont, look for a codec . Then aquire a copy of winavi. If you do simple converting, then thats the program for you. Its fast and works like a charm, but then again you cant really do anything other than convert anything.

DEAR GOD, have you been sniffing glue? Codec packs are the work of Satan, they WILL fuckup movie playback - use GSpot to identify the exact codec's you need (Koepi's xvid codec I expect) then convert the slut into whatever you want.

If you can (ahem) "afford" it, grab Canopus Procoder for all your video converting - it really is the dogs bollocks!

I agree, dogs bollocks are soft and fuzzy... Just like the output from Canopus Procoder

Before I got a decent DVD player, I had to convert just about everything to NTSC SVCD. I used just about every converter out there. I found that TMPGenc was OK, Canopus Procoder was really easy to use (PAL to NTSC was great!) and CCE was confusing but exceptional quality. So depending on what your needs/computer requirements are you could 'aquire' all converters and use each one for different purposes.

For just about everything, I would use CCE, but for fast easy dogs bollocks go for Procoder.

Awaiting Lipring's input....
