"Blurring" Ou+

What apps are generally used to do "blurring" out of serials, etc. in vid files? Also, is it possible to blur without having to re-encode the actual video? I assume it like hardcoded subs but generally hate to re-encode if i dont have to.

I want to blur "TMD" out of my l33t downloads. JK

Jord-man

depends on file format on which method

AVI/mpeg1 - virtualdubmod + logoaway filter (seperate)

Mpeg2 - Virtualdub-Mpeg2 + logoaway filter

VOB - first combine the vob's to one file then virtualdub-mpeg2 + logoaway filter

p.s. you always need to re-rencode, and 2 here's the link for the logoaway filter

logoaway does nifty stuff..ch1eck this out, (this is a 30 sec setup, you might be able to pull of better.

Normally I agree, but I must say that during the Smallville season finale I got *really* tired of the two logos present at the bottom of LoL's feed throughout the entire thing.

Thanks Sobaku, great answer, all i needed. With EPIII, there is too much blur to try this, and i honestly could care less about the timers. I wanted it for TV shows primarily to get rid of (ugly) call signs (sorry pHo) and also for film editing trickery (like faces on Cops).

Yup. This was also one of the last mysteries of encoding to me so i figured i'd give it a go.
