Perfect picture quality but when trying to join the 2 halfs together I'm getting an error that the audio streams have different sampling rates. Total pisser

9/0/7 as I enjoyed the movie

VDub played up and complained when i tried to join them, but the result plays nice on the standalone...

Strange, I just skimmed through both CDs and audio seems fine here. But I didn't try to join the two

Video seems decent.

turn it up... you probably listened to the audio at normal level but if you turn it up like you would for a surround sound system you would see that it becomes so bad you have to turn it back down low...

audio is terrible.... so sad.

I know rip-rules state 118min should be 2CDs, but KJS uses ~128kb/s VBR MP3 and the sample has a bitrate over 1800kb/s. I didn't get the entire release yet, but it would have been better to include AC3-audio on 2CDs, or make a 1CD-rip. 1CD should look fine, compression (XViD, but DiVX too) has improved since the rip-rules were released... And quality-addicts will get the DVDR anyway

I watched the whole release and didn't hear any of the sound problems that are there. Certain audio output drivers in MPlayer made it sound kinda bad, but the standard OS X audio driver was fine.

VirtualDub will always play up when asked to join 2 VBR MP3s of differing sample rates. There are few good applications which can achieve this without leaving a slight pause between the end of the first seg and the start of the second.

But, if you really want to go for it - here's a method which works:

Strip the mp3s out with VirtualDub to .wav, join them together (plenty of wav joining tools, shntool or smth like that). Re-encode the new wav to mp3 using your preferred encoder.

Strip the video streams out in VirtualDub as avi without audio.

Load the first avi into Nandub, append the second, load the mp3 audio and resave out the new avi making sure Direct Stream is enabled.

If the audio drops out of synch by the end, make slight adjustments to the framerate in Nandub on the last step (guide at doom9.org for this) will keep it in synch all the way thru.

Or:

Get a modded Xbox and blow joining shite together.... :P

If a rip is done correctly there should be no sampling rate problems, but KJS didn't do it correctly or maybe their source was bad. In any case avoid this release and go for QiX's or even CiMG's 2CD/AC3 (group not recognised in "the scene" s it were).

After a long absence, "Since KJS's last release was Sideways" KJS returns, i was glad to see their return. the release is good, good pic, good sound... except for the 36-37 1min, but still QiX's release has alot more vivid picture, better sound, yet not ac3, and the volume is somehow lower than kjs's release. go for QiX if you are a quality freak

::edit:: ah, whoops. Ignore this post. I was thinking of a different group entirely.
