Nice release. Just like The Island, perfect audio again, didn't notice any de-synchs.

As for aspect ratio, wrong again at 16:9 when its 2.23:1. Easy fix in MPC, but seriously guys, why can't it be encoded right from the get go!

Video: 8 (would have been higher if not for wrong AR)
Audio: 9 (spot on!)
Movie: 8

Audio is not perfect, its listenable, but Mono on a horror aint very good.

Video is ok, kinda dark at times though.

By 16:9 im asssuming you mean in a 1:85:1 ratio.
This is not encoded 16:9 its encoded 4:3 which is why the AR is a little off, will be ok on a 16:9 TV, but not a 4:3 one, unless it has a 16:9 button.

Im not sure what you mean totally, but you cant encode in a 2:23:1 ratio, either 4:3 or 16:9.

8/7/?

Pic 8.5 Sharp, but a little dark in dark scenes.
Sound 8 Nice & Clear, great on a surround system.
Flik - 5 More predictable crap of this genre. Can't we have something original Hollywood please.

Overall another great release from ROYAL.

You would encode as 16:9, but add in a resize marker in the avs script (if using CCE), then fill in the rest with a border. Making it 16:9 with bars to correct it to 2.23:1. Hope that makes sense.

That's what I do with these movies when they aren't the proper AR, since it looks like crap on my 4:3 tv.

Makes more sense now alanisrox69.

Yeah, i have a mate that releases, and he had to spend a bit of time resizing and adding borders to fix this first, which you would have to do if you have a 4:3 TV which doenst have a 16:9 button.

Hope Royal learn a bit, as they are bringing decent releases, just messing them up a little, or not fixing the source they have.

My Apex does have a 16:9 button (actually two of em...not sure how they differ haha), but, when I use it, it stretches the picture horizontally, chopping off picture on the left and right, adjusting the aspect ratio to almost the proper AR, but still not quite.

And yes, I agree, these releases by Royal have been excellent, they just have a bit of learning to do with reel aspect ratios.
