okay looking to get this TV and I just bought this DVD player

well the DVD player doesn't up-convert to a 1080i signal, just 480p
my question is, is the difference that much better that I should go and buy an up-converter DVD player or is the pic qual still gonna be bad ass and blow me away compared to my 27" RCA Flat screen with monster standard THX certified component cables?
