Again 'MaxBitrate: 9.800 Mbps', tells me this isnt CCE either. I'm still waiting for a good copy of this.

Just like the other 2 copies , still interlaced , this one is actually worse then the other two.

Movie might be shit but i still have a wife who really wants to see it.

Anyone check the nfo for >> Fever.Pitch.internal.DVDR-MPTDVD . If so is it region 1 & properly encoded ? !

Once again avoid.

MPTDVD is also 9800k MaxBitrate, I seriously need to know how these groups get 9800k MaxBitrate. Cause 'NO' CCE encodes do 9800, even the gui ones like DVDReAuthorist. So please someone enlighten me.

I haven't got these releases yet (thankfully). I get 9800 bitrate when I do a DoPullDown. It does the 3:2 and stamps bitrate at 9800 for some stupid reason (automatic, not sure why). DoPullDown is ancient and there probably is a better proggy out there now (let me know), but it's been working for me for years now.

::EDIT - it STAMPS 9800, but it ACTUALLY never is::

Shoot, I still use pulldown.exe from dos window lol. I never actually tried DoPullDown, but would like to know more.

ADDED: Someone told me people are using (www.shrinkto5.com) now. Man I hate one-clickers.

the Fever.Pitch.internal.DVDR-MPTDVD copy is down under internal at the bottom nfo says its ntsc d9, cce6 pass, and in the notes it says it has 2 interlaced cells but its because they included the alternate ending or something which the rerip of the other group did not so thats why its internal

DoPullDown is a windows shell for the original DOS version. Both do the exact same thing (when the 3:2 is done, it says it stamps it at 9800). I am NOT sure why this is done, but if you look at the bitrate, it never hits 9800. I dunno though on this release, I've stayed REALLY far away from it It's too bad though, the movie doesn't look too bad...

One-clickers is a possibility of course And yep, they do suck. I dunno, the scene is dying a bit at a time and dual-layer discs are not any more affordable (like I thought they would be). Ah well.

Well in cases like these I go for group recognition. Which would be MPTDVD, over NONAME and POOP. All 3 appear to be one-clickers from the 9800k MaxBitrate (like a 95% chance). If I like the movie, I'll go back and do it myself correctly.

My .02

Ya we know you can encode 9800k with CCE. But with the 5.1 audio it will error out when muxing it with just about any program scenerarist, maestro, etc. So we want to know how they muxed it with 9800k

porco556 thinks its a pulldown method, I believe its not CCE at all.

PullDown actually quotes it at the end of the job. I just encoded a few movies and here's the output from PullDown:

09:01:04 - enabling 2:3 pulldown
09:09:10 Total Frames = 157037
09:09:10 Total GOPS = 13435
09:09:10 Average bitrate = -1503018277 bit/sec
09:09:10 - (MPEG stamped @ 9800000 bits/sec)
09:09:10 time taken = 486 seconds...
09:09:10 Pulldown finished!

So I dunno what is up, especially with the negative average bitrate before the stamp. Maybe PullDown has to write over the header to set the new framerate and then pops in this 9800 info? No clue. If anyone knows, it's be interesting to know.

Which one click program stamps it as 9800000, its the first time ive heard that.

And CCE does stamp it as 9800000,( even if its a low bitrate encode) if you tick the DVD Video Compliant box in the Video Settings.

Sayin that though, this still looks a bit guff.

Any transcode keeps Maxbitrate, ie DVD Shrink, Shrinkto5, XCopy, so forth..

Yes in CCE u need to check DVD Compliant, but nothing will compile/mux it if you do. (Unless you only have 1 track of 2.0 audio).

DoPullDown didnt do it for me..

20:36:24 - enabling 2:3 pulldown
20:40:53 Total Frames = 129117
20:40:53 Total GOPS = 10871
20:40:53 Average bitrate = -462064595 bit/sec
20:40:53 - (MPEG stamped @ 2520000 bits/sec)
20:40:53 time taken = 269 seconds...
20:40:53 Pulldown finished!

This was just a 23.976 svcd i had available, maxframe is still the same.

Hmm, I did have DVD compliant checked on my encodes (keeps it in my default profile). I dunno. Maybe the version of CCE? I'm using 2.67, and I used 2.50 before that. Both gave me the same 9800 thing in PullDown. So I guess it isn't pulldown though. But I can't figure out then where I'm getting it from.

DVDDecrypter --> DGIndex 1.41 --> AVISynth 2.5 --> CCE 2.67 --> DoPulldown --> Maestro --> Nero (well, by this point, the bitrate was 9800, but it actually isn't... Just stamped)...

But it's happening to me somewhere along that stream of programs. But all my stuff plays on even the pickiest standalones. Dunno. It's a real mystery to me.

::EDIT - Wait... You said that was an SVCD. What is the max combined bitrate for one of those discs (SVCDs that is)? Was the encode at 2520000, or is that perhaps the max of a SVCD? I did an SVCD once using a program with an orange as a logo (DVD2SVCD maybe?)::

I don't use DVD2SVCD. This was DVDDecrypter > DVD2AVI > AVISynth 2.5 > CCE 2.5 > DoPullDown

I used maxbitrate 2520k and I ended up at 2520k. CCE DVD Compliant unchecked. I found it kinda strange when u said DoPullDown, neet lil program, but the DOS version is faster, but has less options. Give and Take.

So its clear, if you use CCE then DVD Compliant IS checked. So how do u mux? DVD Maestro gives me overbitrate errors like scenarist on 5.1 audio.

I use Maestro only when I want the subtitles for a foreign file, or the menu (which I usually don't want, unless I can easily fit it onto the disc without encoding). But I get the max bitrate error, but I still can mux afterwards without problems (using version 2.9).

As for non menu, no subs work, I use TMPEG DVD Author I hear the screams already from people reading that. I do all my own chapters, and it works just fine for no menu, no subs. Easy as pie and works 100% of the time... It's actually the program I used after IFOEdit (since IFO edit screws up the clock on NTSC movies 100% of the time... However, IFOEdit WILL also MUX the 9800 stuff... Not to mention do subtitles also very easily)

Out of the 2 CCE GUI programs, Doitfast and DVDReauthorist, neither do 9800k maxbitrate. And if you decide to do it by hand even, you wont be able to mux it correctly.

So as the saying goes for me...

If I see 9800k, I'm thinking Shrink programs. (Till someone proves me wrong)

hehe, not sure how to convince you But all my encodes are stamped incorrectly (checked 5 of my recent 2.67 encodes and 1 of my 2.50SP encodes. All 9800 max). But I do it all by hand (using the RoBa guide from 2003 off of Doom 9... Which is what I started with. Used to be called the "getting the most out of CCE" one and was for CCE 2.50SP). But to recap, the bitrate is NEVER 9800 in any of my encodes. But as mentioned, I've seen some 9800 in PowerDVD on actual retail DVDs, but usually that would make my old stand alone stutter.

But we can go back and forth till the cows come home and actually get nowhere
