Never makes much sense to me why groups keep all the audio and kill all the extras. Waste of space.

This rip looks ok, besides all the foreign audio.

watching this one on my standalone as we speak. looks a bit on the grainy side for the proclaimed bitrate. could be the source, but i doubt it from an r1 retail.

i expect a proper will be released with a better bitrate and minus the foreign audio.

One question, how could it not be a R1 retail when a Region Free patch just came out for it (yes a total fuckup on their part) but it wouldnt be restricted to R1 region if it wasnt a R1....

extras should have been left in and audio removed with subs kept imo.

9/9/? (based on sample)

or they could have simply stripped out foreign audio and left bitrate untouched, if they were so intent on stripping the extras.

but its happening more and more:

- MirrorMask from DPiMP
- Corpse Bride from RAGEDVD (but this one is a total shitjob, they dont even know what CCE is)
- etc.

its a pity that groups continue doing sloppy jobs. i mean we can accept that some newb groups insist on trying to boast their fame releasing iNTERNALs of oldies (top 250's for example) from either dogcrap DVD5 sources or using 0-click programs (thinking of Lebowski here from WaYsTeD and Charade from CME but these are just examples), coz theyre just pathetic, but on pre'd new shit, groups as old as FCR and DPiMP, i mean come on.. you're better than this.

clearly its all boiled down to a rat race for whos first, job therefore is of minor importance. you guys have to remember though, even if its for free and for that we shouldnt complain, for free we can also get a friend's copy from blockbuster and run it through CloneDVD or DVDShrink, its not rocket science. the scene is about unparamounted quality over anything else, thats why its the scene and its such a great place to be.

heck i dont know for certain but im pretty sure the average home user doesnt make 9-passes on Rebuilder, it just takes too damn long, that's what the scene is for.

glad i got that straight.

you misread my post. my point was the video source shouldn't be grainy on a r1 retail.

anyway...after watching the whole thing, like Mr. Coltrane said, shoulda left the video untouched.

movie wasn't bad at all, i think Harrison Ford has one more Indiana Jones in him.

Or people should just stop thinking they are alone on the world, and imaging the amount of people who would want a french or spanish soundtrack.

The bitrate is well within scene specs, so quit bitching. It's the rippers choice, and they have chosen to include multiple audio tracks to make it accessable to as many people as possible. Either accept it, or go rent it and make your own backup which you can rip exactly the way you like it.

And no, I don't speak French or Spanish... Personally, I could care less if they weren't on the disc, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna shoot down a group for leaving them.

If you want to bitch, bitch about the fact they didn't remove regional coding, returning to the special feature menu when all special features have been ripped, and not deleting buttons in this menu. Not about ripping choices when the end result is still within scene specs.

Doing a CCE rip is indeed much much faster then ripping the audio and leaving the bitrate untouched

Why does everyone assume that the video could have been left untouched??? A lot of DVD9 sources have video that is larger than 4.37Gb - in fact it is more and more common for it to be that way. I'm sure that if it could've been untouched it would've been as that would have been the quickest solution to getting the DVDR out.

Like one other user here I am glad to see the inclusion of Fre & Spa audios (not that I understand them). This is at rippers discretion so why bitch about it???

Good quality release with a better than average bitrate...

JustBrowsing: the whole point of this forum is to critique the rips. is it not? go preach that dumb shiit somewhere else.

if you like it, say so, if u don't like it, say so, but i'm sure not going to be silent on your request.

not necessarily, sometimes for untouched video to be kept such complex things as the dummying of removed extras/FBI warnings/logos and reauthoring of the video to remove some of the end credits have to be done.

its not always as simple a job as stripping foreign audio and voila.

fair enough that there are people who speak these idioms, but if this is the case, would you not think the reading of french/spanish subs to be sufficient?

personally i hate a dubbed movie. i think it ruins it. if we are assuming people who get movies from the scene, i'm sure 99% of them know how to read, if not all, because you cannot surf around like that without having that basic skill, and at least a basic understanding of the english language.

all the items you mentioned are also shows of a sloppy job, such things as unremoved buttons and physical errors within the dvd, which are so common nowadays. again we go back to the rat race and sloppy finish which i think i wasnt innacurate in emphasizing.

concluding i dont see where i attacked anyone here to be the target of such rude manifestations, JustBrowsing, please take a sedative or such, it would appear you need one. this is a chilled out place not your average flamehouse. if i want to bitch i bitch, you're not the one to say how i bitch and for what. lets keep these clear please.

maybe we should grow up a bit if we want to engage in discussions on the releases. this kind of immature approach doesn't really get us anywhere.

cheers

There is one thing for sure. I think Video quality is the #1 most important thing, and whatever needs to be done to get the quality up (preferably untouched) should be done. The next would be English 5.1, then the title menu. Anything after that is just whatever the ripper wants that can fit in the remaining space. Those 3 things should be like a law or something, I'd even go without a title menu if it helped improved the video.

What is it? A movie, primarily about what you SEE on the screen, and if it's ugly quality, then I don't care what other extras are on the DVD, it's worthless. Then it's about what you hear, and 5.1 is a minimum standard. English of course. If you want to start throwing other languages on, might as well include Phillipino, or Arabic, and 100 other languages if they are on there. Why Spanish? Sure there are lot's of Spanish people, but French? Not really like Spanish. So sacrifice video quality for French? If the user can find and download the release, they already speak English, and there are probably other places to find downloads that cater towards foreign languages, I certainly see enough Danish downloads, or is that Dutch?

Low bitrate movies are very noticable BTW on large screen TVs, and not in a good way.
