The Dark Knight

DS emulator and roms

i've been searching around the net, and have ffound a few different emulators for the DS, i have a bunch of roms, but it seems that no emulator will play them, based on reading the other DS thread, i see that a few people are know what they are talking about when it comes to this sort of thing, are the roms pretty much strictly for putting on a flash cartridge, or is there an actual working emulator that is out there?

Admin?

There's two that will "attempt" to run some commercial roms but in fairness, no, you need a DS to play the roms... Ensata is the official Nintendo development emulator which is obviously fairly comprehensive but wont run everything and can't "easily" be obtained cos it's like, illegal to distribute it n stuff. The only other one worth considering is No$GBA which has limited NDS support but is getting better. It runs a few roms (slowly) but not many and you need to run a tool on the .nds files to decrypt them first. I think you'll also need a dump of the DS's bios. There's a handful of other emulators but they're only good for homebrew.

So, to summarize... Buy a DS

pretty much what NS said.

The other thing is you obviously cant use a stylus, which is one of the outstanding features of the DS. Bust-A-Move just isnt the same when you dont use it.

Get your hand in your pocket, you cheapskate bastard. Or at least get your wife-to-be to buy you one to show her gratitude for letting her marry you!

pjeer?

As much as I seem to play the DS whilst sitting aruond the house, its very much meant for in the hand play whilst out and about.. you won't get the most (or even "Much") out of a lot of the games without the real hardware.

They're really nifty.
