Unbelievable video quality ..it sure has the HDTV look to it crisp clear detail up close ..havn't seen quality like this in a while.

My only complaint is the shi**y Directors jumpy camera movement and too close all the time ..remember Bourne Supremacy..well its even worse

v 10 Best you can get for a dvd
a 10 5.1 EX
m 8.5 good ride

Watched this on an Upscaling DVD player at 1080 interlaced on a 40" samsung LCD HDTV

Awesome picture quality, sharp and crisp.

The only reason it did not get a 3rd 10 is because of the ridiculous bus stop rogering of his girlfriend. One of the most Banal interludes in an action film ever.....

WOW... what kinda dvd player do you have... as far as I knew, the most you could upconvert a standard DVD was to 720p

I guess with that DVD player, you have no need of ever getting and HD DVD player...

:P

I havent watched this particular release but the movie was a little crazy for me... I personally like the transporter series more!

Movie - 6.5/10

Google "Oppo". I have one and it is very nice and affordable. They even have a 1080p model out now. But it still isnt as good as HD or blu-ray because the source isnt hi-def, its just converted to hi-def...

Chaotic is 100% right
upconverting dvd players only make it about 20% better quality on a HDTV ,i also have a $1300 denon one but i find it looks better at 720p as at 1080i it has to convert too much info
of course i do have over 30 high deff movies on disk at true 1080i (not blueray) that are mind blowing on a HDTV even compared to a upsampled dvd.
I would imagine Francis is right though..this dvd will look nice upsampled as it already has more of a high deff look then most dvds

I haven't tried this on my stand alone yet, but when I mount the image in WINDVD if you hit the play movie button it takes you back to the menu, if you hit play movie again then it starts the movie.

(you would think testing it in a software DVD player would be a minimum requirement before releasing it)

Also it doesn't look like chapter selection works properly either...

Maybe they can fix it with a PPF patch, otherwise this might need a proper...

Can anyone confirm that they get the same results if they play it in a stand alone?

This rls definitely needs a proper. Bad nav, kept 2.0 and censored audio when all that was needed was 5.1 (ps. there is no commentary as stated in the nfo, 5.1/2.0/censored audio are the 3 audio track options), they stripped the real extras, but kept 400+mb of dumb previews, and this release is undersize to boot. They could have easily stripped the previews and unnecessary audio tracks and kept (at least some of) the real extras. Poor rls, great movie. Here's to hoping someone steps up with a proper.

I can't justify ( or afford ) either Blu-ray or HD-DVD players so the upscaling was the best option for me. The model i have is a Toshiba SD 350-E. only cost £70. Obviously the picture is only as good as the source material, But Crank is a spankingly good example.

I can confirm all of your results in my standalone. I dont understand why so many scene releases come out so flawed. I have NEVER had any problems backing up DVD's on my own and I use CCE. Unfortunately, I already burned this because I wanted something to watch last night and didnt have any RW's so a PPF patch wont do me any good. The video and audio quality are superb but the navigation is screwed. 10/10/6 Release - 6
