Best release so far...

Have only skipped through the full movie as I've already watched it countless times. As far as I can tell there are no navigation problems or picture transfer issues although the original source material is a bit rough in places. Content and runtime are identical to NTSC versions which is unusual for PAL which normally runs 4% faster.

Menu works exactly as it should. Props to AFO for bypassing unused PGCs and not just blanking them as so many groups do. There are no layer break problems according to PGCedit. If I was to nitpick, the number of audio streams has not been reduced to reflect the removal of the audio commentary.

If you prefer DVD to XviD and can play PAL this is currently the release to get.

There does appear to be some weird problems as far as interlacing goes - it seems as though the source might have been hybrid.

The fact that the NTSC runtime is the same as the PAL one suggests that the studio didn't do a nice NTSC->PAL transfer (or maybe this was the lesser of two evils with the hybrid source). Personally I would rather they'd decimated the old footage and done a 23.976->25fps conversion of the newer FILM source.

Either way - it's annoying as hell to watch on a progressive display.
