Dual booting Linux

I've been attempting to get into Linux. I have been doing some reading on it and investigating which distro I want to install. It seems that Mandriva and Ubuntu might be the best ones (for me) to start with. Since I've got a spare box laying around I figure I can do a lot of playing around with it.

My question is: Is it possible to dual / multi boot (if that even exists) with 2, 3 or more distro's installed, so that I can switch back and fourth for comparison purposes without having to fresh install a different distro after a few days playing with one?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Canis rufus atheist

I've only dual booted XP with a few different flavors of Linux.

If you want to do it right with more than two distros, learn how to correctly configure the config file for Grub or Lilo.

In the meantime... check this out.

I've tried out Ubuntu, Knoppix, Debian, Slackware, and Gentoo.... as well as some variations of these.

I'm currently typing this from Knoppix, have a Debian box in the room on my right, Xubuntu on the left, and a headless Slackware box (my original baby) up in a cabinet.
