Oddly the only "backup" I really played online was Crackdown, other than that I played XBLA games I'd downloaded.

I paid monthly though as I had a feeling this may happen at some point, so I'll just go ahead and cancel.

It's not going to stop me playing "backups" and it's losing them money. I can't see the business sense in it really, as I was all set to spend another load on Double Dragon and Gauntlet!

Wii online it is then!

Well. I guess i'm glad I didn't update.

So, if the worst comes to the worst and you get banned i'm assuming you'll never be able to update the dash. Will this have a knock on effect with games? Will there come a day when you wont be able to play a game (backup or legit) because the dash is an older revision?

Doubtful... That would effectively prevent people without an internet connection from playing the latest games. I'd expect them to put any major firmware updates into their games, much like Nintendo do.

No, to the best of my knowledge they block your console so that ANY online play on that 360 is effectively cunted

Cant say I really care all that much. The only thing i'm a tad gutted about is that I cant get Speedball II on Xbox Live, which is a shame!

I was never a big 'online' player anyway and should a decent online game turn up that I do fancy playing, i'll buy it for the PS3.

I'm not going to justify what I did, but its a shame... I will never buy another game for the console now. Any game that I will buy, will now be on the PS3 (Including the new GTA)
