jay are is dead :P

xbox error 7

im getting error 7 on my original xbox. i was in the middle of flashing wiht evox and the hd made contact with metal. sparks flew everywhere and now im getting the ROD. is it bricked or can i recover?

Error 7: HDD Timeout.

it can be recovered but relies on a few things.

1.Check the HDD IDE cable is connected properly

2. Try a different IDE cable.

is it chipped or softmodded? if softmodded:

3. Hope you backed up your eeprom first. If 1 and 2 dont work, your hdd is shagged. You now have 2 options. If you have your eeprom backed up, you can do format a new drive with some xbox formatting software then hotswap and jobs a good un. If you dont have the eeprom, your going to have to get it chipped first then stick a new hdd in it.
