Disturbia

Surprisingly good teen thriller (bordering on psychological horror). How good, really, can a PG13 wannabe horror movie be? Well, about as good as this. I'm a Hitchcock freak and hate movies that try to replicate and end up delivering none of the style or thrills of that geniuses movies. But this homage to Rear Window - with a house arrest bracelet replacing the leg cast - is done with style and plenty of humour. (And there's a fit teen chicky in repeated bikini changes for when the going gets rough.)

Remember it's a PG13, there's only so far they can go (and the reason they have that rating is to appeal to kiddies too)...but once you've watched the end of the opening scenario-setting sequence you realise that this movie is going to push that rating (without being overly graphic) as far as it can go. In fact all that is missing is the buckets of blood, in all other respects this is a top drawer Hollywood slasher movie. Actually it's better than that, it's a genuine psychological thriller.

7/10.

Agreed, it was above the average crap that is made these days.

The cast helped, I've had a thing for Carrie-Ann Moss since she was leathered up in Matrix and I don't usually like teen actors but Shia Lebeouf seems to have a bit more about him than the usual tooth laminated inane grinning hollywood teenthrobs. He seems to be getting some top drawer parts too, or ALL of the top drawer parts, don't know who's cock he is sucking but its definitley working for him.

The opening of the movie was good too, an explosive and shocking opening always helps to keep people watching.

Funnily enough the first movie I noticed him was in Holes and that movie is to kids/family movies what Disturbia is to the average teen movie. I'd recommend Holes as highly, it's definitely the darkest Disney kids movie ever!

Lebeouf, to add to this summer's major blockbuster, will probably be the third generation of the Indiana Jones family (and successor in future sequels?) in next summer's blockbuster.

I'm guessing he's not only sucking cock, but simultaneously having his cock sucked by some other wrinkly studio owner in his 70's.

It's love baby!

I can't say this was a great movie really. Decent enough for teen horror flick, but it was just too pat for me. I'd rather have seen some serious twist at the end, the kind that really blows ones mind. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but it wasn't quite what I expected.
