is it just me or the samples do not show up anymore when click on jpg button

it happened also to me it's a problem with media preview, follow this:

1) Open a command window (Start->Run, type in 'cmd' hit enter)
2) To remove image preview, type and hit enter
regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll
3) To readd image preview, type and hit enter
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
4) To remove media preview, type and hit enter
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll
5) To readd media preview, type and hit enter
regsvr32 shmedia.dll

What are we talking about here, what samples where?

If you mean the jpg samples on the new release pages they're working fine for me in two different browsers. I just sometimes have to scroll down a bit as they're not always near the top of the screen.

Try frsoldiers fix... A couple of people have also mentioned it in the IRC channel but it's not affecting many people and we HAVEN'T made any changes to the site (sigh, I wish we had!).

That would be "nobody".... I don't mind co-ordinating it but X69 is too busy these days to actively work on it (with real life ventures - which I understand), some of the other admin don't really care anymore (by their own admission, I'm not shit-slinging) and we've got nobody lined up to code the new site. If I knew about web development then I'd have a crack but I'm an IT manager which means I know fuck all.
