I had major problems with BT, slowed right down between 6 and midnight. Try calling their indian call centres to explain the problem. Its perhaps the most frustrating experience of my life. They have no idea about heavy users having their lines restricted. They just take your details, run a line test and tell you that your line is fine and there must be a problem with your pc.
After going through this procedure several times and me still saying I was having problems they refer it to the line fault department. They then ring me 2 weeks later to see if i am still having problems, I say yes, months of complaints go by and then they ring me to tell me my local exchange has just been upgraded and that I should no longer have problems. I'm still getting slow speeds so by this point I want to kill someone. I know my line is being intentionally restricted because the problem happens the same time every day, yet these indian morons have absolutely no idea about it. I finally ask for a number for an English call centre, surprisingly they give me one, I ring them up and they tell me within the first minute that my line is restricted because of my heavy use. Now before being told this I had been complaining for months to the Indian call centre, luckily for me they retardedly wrongly admitted to my slow speeds coming from a faulty exchange, this resulted in a refund for the entire time I had been complaining, from the day of my first complaint to the day they said they had fixed the exchange, totalled about a whole quarters bill. Naice.
Got my restriction lifted by feigning ignorance and promising to keep my usage down, got restricted again the following month. Its not so bad now, still some traffic shaping in place during peak hours but its never below 1.5mbps.
