ÛÝ Bart was born but somehow never got around to reading it to ÞÛ
ÞÛ his son. Lisa suggests that Homer should read the book to ÛÝ
ÛÝ his family now and three short stories are told featuring ÞÛ
ÞÛ the Simpsons as the classic characters. In "D'oh, Brother ÛÝ
ÛÝ Where Art Thou", Homer appears as Odysseus, leader of the ÞÛ

ßßßÜÜÜ and its latest issues and problems. Problems such ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ as the conundrum of speed vs. quality which I would Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß like to take a few moments to discuss with all of ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° you here today. For those of you who you don't know ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± what I'm referring to, this particular issue relates ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± to the fact that almost anyone can capture a video ± °² Û
ݲ° °± feed of any TV show and release it in the 'scene' ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± system given he knows a thing or two about both. ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± Gone are the days where (a) no one really cared about ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ ripping TV shows since no 'scene' site would accept ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ them and only true fans would bother to release Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß anything, often to public or private IRC communities, ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° having 'scene' site ops who were interested in those ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± shows contact them directly to get them on their site ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± and (b) the days where gaining credits on sites by ± °² Û
ݲ° °± uploading an enormous amount of TV rips regardless of ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± the show's quality (I'm referring to shows no one ever ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± watches and not the video/audio quality of the encodes.) ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ was considered ludicrous and no one would ever think ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ it possible... Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° This all poses a problem since now a lot of people have ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± found a sudden interest in releasing the said TV rips ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± to the 'scene' community. The 'scene' itself revolving ± °² Û
ݲ° °± around a world of fast races and shortcuts, it isn't ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± surprising that we are in this position today. The ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± TV rip scene is unique due to two major ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ characteristics; the first being that almost everyone ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ has access to the release material at once, and the Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß other being that this very release material can be ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° extremely different in quality depending on where the ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± video feed is coming from and how it's manipulated all ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± throughout the process of encoding and packaging. In ± °² Û
ݲ° °± the ISO scene, such problems do not occur. For example, ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± not everyone can get access to games as fast as the ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± current leaders in that domain. Could they get it ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ first, way before them and the stores, they would ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ still need to have experienced crackers on fast Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß connections that could be able to crack the game's ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° various protections schemes. It often happens that ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± more than one group gets the release material at the ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± same time, but in the end, no matter who would have ± °² Û
ݲ° °± released it first, the end user's experience would ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± have been the same. Both releases would have been ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± identical, the only difference having been the way ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ the protection schemes would had been dealt with, ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ something that doesn't affect in any way the quality Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß of the release. Either it works, or it doesn't. If the ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° game requires a crack to be applied, and the crack ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± doesn't work, the release is no good and it's nuked. ±° °²Þ

ݲ° °± It's much harder to draw the line between a good and a ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± bad release in the TV rip scene seeing as though a lot ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± of people consider that whenever and however a release ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ is made, it's all over and we're all satisfied. As long ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ as there isn't any major problems with it, "It's all Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß good", the general consensus stipulates. Whatever ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° happened to quality? For a lot of people that's ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± important. People such as me enjoy archiving those ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± TV series and seeing them more than once. "Let's find ± °² Û
ݲ° °± the best source possible and make it the nicest encode ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± we can before releasing it so the end user's experience ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± will be tremendous." Sadly, that philosophy cannot hold ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ in the current context. Would you allow yourself to ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ think as such and wish to provide everyone with a Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß release which meets your quality standards, you'd ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° have close to no one to share it with in the 'scene', ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± their sites having already been filled up with speedy ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± releases whose quality could only be described as merely ± °² Û
ݲ° °± 'good enough'. Who will you rather release for in times ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± such as these, the masochist 'scene' who willingly ± °² Û
ßܲ° °± plagues itself with such apparently unsolvable problems ±° °²Üß
ßßßÜÜÜ or the true fans out there who rely upon you for quality ÜÜÜßßß
²° °±ßÝ material? Sometimes, you just need to find a way to Þß±° °²
²°ÜÝ±ß satisfy both. The 'scene' brought it upon itself to ß±ÞÜ°²
±Þß ° receive this release we are presenting you today in its ° ßݱ
ݲ° °± current form. It could have been better, but enjoy this ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± release nevertheless; we consider it 'better than ± °² Û
ݲ° °± whatever you might have gotten 5-10 minutes after this ±° °²Þ
Û ²° ± one and which would have possibly been of inferior ± °² Û
