|± We know that 2 CDs for a 82 minute movie ±|
|± seems very extreme, but after watching the ±|
|± two samples, we hope you can understand ±|
|± why it was necessary. The extreme use of ±|
|± lights musical caused a great deal of ±|
|± problems for the DivX codec, which, as a ±|
|± result, required more bits. As well, the ±|
|± higher resolution was necessary because ±|
|± the individual pixels became ±|
|± distinguishable during some of the ±|
|± completely blue shaded scenes. In case ±|
|± you aren't already convinced, in order for ±|
|± this rip to be 1 CD, the 512x336 bilinear ±|
|± with 128Kbps MP3, would result in a 30% ±|
|± first pass percentage, which of course is ±|
|± unacceptable. Although, it could be argued ±|
|± that AC3 audio could be used, there was ±|
|± only a 5.1AC3 track, and we tried using it ±|
|± but in the end, the video quality still ±|
|± was not acceptable. Included are the ±|
|± 512x336 bilinear sample, avs, stats, and ±|
|± vcf files. No filters were used because ±|
|± the cause of the low compressibility was ±|
|± simply a problem inherent with the DivX ±|
|± codec. This release also demonstrates how ±|
|± difficult standardizing DVDivX rips can be ±|
|± simply because of the vast variety of ±|
|± DVDs. For this reason, it is crucial that ±|
|± while input should be taken from everyone, ±|
|± standards should be set by the experienced ±|
|± and well researched "professionals". ±|
