A love story spanning two continents, NOWHERE IN AFRICA
is the extraordinary true tale of a Jewish family who
flees the Nazi regime in 1938 for a remote farm in Kenya.
Abandoning their once-comfortable existence in Germany,
Walter Redlich, his wife Jettel (Juliane Köhler, of AIMÉE
AND JAGUAR) and their five-year-old daughter Regina each
deal with the harsh realities of their new life in different
ways. Attorney Walter is resigned to working the farm as a
caretaker; pampered Jettel resists adjustment at every
turn; while the shy yet curious Regina immediately embraces
the country-learning the local language and customs, and
finding a friend in Owuor, the farm's cook.
As the war rages on the other side of the world, the trio's
relationships to their strange environment become
increasingly complicated as Jettel grows more self-assured
and Walter more haunted by the life they left behind.
As they eventually learn to cherish their life in Africa,
they also endeavor to find a way back to each other.

XPD SVCD RULES (Updated 4/9/03)
1. No CBR crap, minimum 4 pass CCE. CBR=Crapped Beyond Repair.
Bitrate AVG will not preceed 1600k-1700k. Max will be 2520k.
Never will DVD2SVCD be used.
2. IMDB ratings don't mean anything, One man's garbage is
another man's gold.
3. Commentary is added if possible/available. In this case
audio will be 192k+128k. Max video 2400k. But now the
scene loves to proper, so less will be done here.
4. Times will vary pending action to lenth.
5. Will always repair/redo our rips if bad. NO EXCEPTIONS!
We at XPD have QC (Quality Control), and will not stoop to low
bitrates or CBR 1 pass SVCDs. We are not scared of group nukes
or getting beat in a race for going the extra mile for the
end-user. We hope to be around along time.
The reason we make SVCD (Video CDs) is to provide and promote
the sale of the DVD. Everything on the DVD is not on the SVCD
and the DVD is far better quality. The United States Net Act
allows you to hold a copy of this for 180 days (6 months) then
you must discard this SVCD. We urge everyone to buy the original
DVD because this SVCD only provides some of it's contents.
