JAAGO is a songless film; keeping that point in mind Mehul would
have few butterflies in his stomach. However, he would be happy
with the performance of his starcast especially Manoj and Raveena.
Coincidentally Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia were responsible for
the hit KRANTIVEER, and could be said of Manoj and Raveena.
Manoj delivers a power packed performance and has silenced his critics,
who are thinking of his retirement phase. Manoj calm and composed yet
the eyes does have the radiance of Bhiku Mathre. Raveena Tandon is
seen in a dignified role and gives an amazing performance. It is
surprising with a good script and a good director Raveena can still
deliver. Her past record with SHOOL, SATTA and now JAAGO definitely
holds her in reverence.
Puru Rajkumar is good in his role and keeps some defining moments in
the movie. Akhilendra Mishra is superb in his dialogue delivery.
Hansika Motwani should be applauded for enacting such a difficult
character with so much ease. Sanjay Kapoor does a saving grace to
his drowning career. The rest are average.
Dialogues (KK Singh) have a huge striking factor in JAAGO. They spark
magic in the film during the confrontation of Manoj and Akhilendra.
The court scene is also a highlighting part of the movie. However,
the movie would be a bag of confusion if it were to run in the rural
parts. Also the length of the movie should be curtailed. JAAGO has a
great opening and looks like this subject-oriented movie is all set
to rock. JAAGO has the potential to do quite a good business.
