³ Woody Allen plays Val Waxman, a film director, who was once big in ³
³ the 1970's and 1980's, but has now been reduced to directing TV ³
³ commercials. Finally, he gets an offer to make a big film. But, ³
³ disaster strikes, when Val goes temporarily blind, due to paranoia. ³
³ So he and a few friends try to cover up his disability without the ³
³ studio executives or the producers knowing that he is directing the ³
³ film blind. ³
³ ³
³ Written and directed by Woody Allen, he plays a caricature of what ³
³ he himself might have turned out like, a neurotic, once-great ³
³ director of arty films, fallen on hard times. Watch out for the ³
³ always unimitable Isaac Mizrahi in a humorous small role. ³
³ Tiff Thiessen provides the (dubious) 90210 fix, perhaps she was ³
³ hoping to pull a Mira Sorvino by appearing in one of Woody Allen's ³
³ films... and perhaps pigs can fly. Debra Messing you may recognize ³
³ from TV's Will & Grace, her short appearance in Mothman Prophecies ³
³ (VxR, this is not 1980's pirate VHS, and even then, the M, K and ³
³ XL were more discreet) and other things. Tea Leoni is, of course, ³
³ married to everyone's favorite Fox Mulder, David Duchovny. How ³
³ Dave could marry someone whose last name means "pants" (pantaleoni) ³
³ is beyond any of us, especially those of us who are British. ³
