One day, a boy raised on Whale Island learns that his father is still alive. Gon Freeces, the boy, is the son of the
legendary Hunter, Jin Freeces. Abondoned by his father at a young age, Aunt Mito, who took care of him, has kept
this secret from him. Inspired to be a Hunter himself, Gon trained secretly over his young year until he was eligible
to join the Hunter Exam. At that age, he argues with his Aunt to allow him to join the Hunter Test so that he will be
able to meet his father as a Hunter. After the impatient days, Gon left Whale Island, waving good bye to his Aunt and
Grandma on the dock and the creatures in the forest as he left to become a Hunter...
Hunter x Hunter is one of the best anime and manga, created by Yoshihiro Togashi (most known for Yu Yu Hakusho) finishing
off with 62 episodes and the manga going 12 volume and up. The story takes place in the 19th century where old and modern
technology mix in a strange and unique world of the past and future. Gon, the main character, has just learned that his father,
who is a famous Hunter, is still alive. Joining the Hunter Exam, Gon hopes to become a Hunter to meet his father, whom he
has never seen. However, passing the Hunter Exam is not easy as it may sound. Approximately, 1 out of 100,000 contestants
will pass the Exam and become hunters. You're also risking your life to pass the Exam which are made up of smaller tests.
In Gon's journey, he meets up with three new friends: Leorio, Kurapica, and Killua, that become his best friends. The story
doesn't only revolve around Gon, it also delves into those other characters. Hunter X Hunter might seem like any ordinary
Anime, but it adds a unique twist and has a variety of interesting characters which adds to the story.
What is a Hunter?
A Hunter is a person who designate his or her life in searching or hunting rare animals and beasts, treasures and secret
treasures, demon boundaries and unexplored region, and anything valuable and unknown to this world. The Hunters must
also protect the people and nature in its natural balance from bad people. Enormous knowledge, healthy flesh, healthy mind,
and strong belief are needed to pass the Hunter Exam. Therefore, formal Hunter who receives the license is assured every
country in the world of free ticket, all conveniences for their duty in return.
These Hunters must pass the difficult exam before they can get their license. Lives are risked in taking the exam because of
its difficulty. It is also possible for candidates to take the test over and over if they did not pass. Examples of the test would
be like going through a maze where you will have to battle as well under a limited of time or hunting other candidates cards
in a large region all over the forest. The hunter is the elite in the elite world.

It provides a lot of info on it. Be warned though, spoilers might be lurking around in there, so be careful. Other than that, this
is not your typical anime. It's very diverse and interesting. Even though 1-4 MAY seem to start slow (for some people) give it
a chance. This is an EXCELLENT series, and definatly not one to be passed by. The series is 62 episodes and 8 OVA eps.
