| Doug and Carrie need a new car but Carrie thinks they |
| should wait until Doug's union decides whether they will |
| strike or not. Doug can't wait, and impulsively buys a new |
| SUV. Carrie is incensed since just after he buys the car |
| the union does indeed strike. Doug is left trying to find |
| ways to save money at home while Carrie puts in overtime at |
| work. Meanwhile, Spence buys the Heffernan's old car and it |
| promptly breaks down on him. |
