Synopsis:
When ten-year-old Ai Minoru Tanaka) is teased by her classmates for
communicating in sign language with her deaf mother Asako (Akiko Oshidari),
her mother joins a sign language theater troupe to help Ai have a better
understanding of what it means to be deaf. The troupe, Hands, though
suffering from the recent death of its founder, perseveres through its
troubles and is eventually invited to perform in Tokyo. Directed by
Yutaka Osawa and Akihiro Yonaiyama, I Love You was reportedly the first
Japanese film to be made by hearing (Osawa) and deaf (Yonaiyama) co-directors.
In order to raise her deaf daughter Ai's confidence, hearing-impaired Asako
signs them both up in a theatrical troupe. Although problems arise, they work
together to overcome the obstacles. On the day of the performance, Ai learns
that her mother lost her hearing while giving birth to her, and it sends her
entire world upside down. She blames herself for her mothers impairment,
and as the curtains begin to rise, Ai disappears from backstage.

Group History:
Established during the Summer of 2000, Hongkong-movies
(HkM) is a dedicated entertainment group who interested is to
enhance the experience of Asian entertainment. HkM originated
from irc-Dalnet and has expanded over to irc-Efnet in early 2001
to reach a larger audience. We are actively involved in spreading
asian movies. We regularly distribute high quality releases in Divx
format to encourage others to buy the original after previewing the
film. Our hopes are to spread and promote various asian films.
We allow users to chat through mIRC and message boards to voice
opinions of movies in hopes to bring new ideas and ultimately
improved films. We hope to broaden the horizon of all those who

Although HkM has existed only a short period of time, we
hope to expand and increase awareness to all. We are continually

in asian movies. Our ultimate goal is to promote awareness of
