The Top Gear presenter explores the story of the commando raid on the
dry dock of St Nazaire in World War Two. The objective was to deny the
Axis the ability to deploy their fearsome battleship, Tirpitz, by ramming
the dock gates with an old destroyer packed with explosives. Special
effects are used to recreate the operation, in which 169 men lost their
lives and more than 80 medals were awarded
