E01 - Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire (7G08)
While at work Mr. Burns (Homer's boss) announces that the Christmas
bonuses have been taken away from the workers. While gift shopping
Bart gets a tattoo and Marge finds out. She spends all of her Christmas
money on the tattoo's removal. When Homer comes home from work, and
learns that Marge had to spend all the money, he doesn't tell Marge about
the lost Christmas bonuses. While at Moe's Bar, Moe notices Homer is
depressed and asks why. He tells Moe, and Barney (Homer's friend at the
bar) suggests that Homer work as a Santa. Homer gets the job and starts
working at the local mall. At the mall, Bart's friend (now known as
Milhouse) dares Bart to pull Santa's beard off. Bart does and discovers
Homer's secret. Homer explains, and Bart understands. Sometime later,
Homer receives his paycheck but with all the deductions it is nearly not
enough to pay for Christmas presents. Barney suggests that he gamble his
earnings at the dog track and Bart encourages Homer to do it. At the track
they bet on a dog known as known as Santa's Little Helper (SLH). SLH loses
miserably and Homer is upset, but when the owners of SLH kick him out of
the track, Bart asks Homer if they can keep him. They bring home SLH and
the family has a good as Christmas as could be expected. The family, along
with Grampa, Patty and Selma sing their variation of "Rudolph, the Red
Nosed Reindeer" as the show comes to a close.
E02 - Bart the Genius(7G02)
It begins with a simple game of Scrabble before Homer's temper goes off when
Bart cheats. After Martin Prince completes his test, Bart snatches and
changes the name to his own. When he gets a really high mark, Principal
Skinner sends him to a gifted school. Bart feels left out because he's just
your average liar and dummy and he finally confesses, making Homer furious.
E03 - Homer's Odyssey(7G03)
Homer is incompetent at his job. After being fired, he decides to kill himself,
but his failed attempts make him want to spend his newfound free time
campaigning for safety around Springfield. He becomes a popular activist and
focuses his effort towards the power plant. To protect the plant from being
shut down, Burns hires him as the plant's safety inspector.
E04 - There's No Disgrace Like Home(7G04)
Homer discovers that other's families can live well together when he takes his
to a company picnic and they make a spectacle of themselves. So he decides to
make his family better through therapy. He sells the TV to pay for it. They
are mad at him for it. Therapy fails, as the Simpson family is beyond help.
E05 - Bart the General(7G05)
Lisa makes cupcakes for her teacher and she even gives one to Bart. A bully
takes them from her and destroys them. He and Bart get in a fight and Nelson
comes to the bully's aid. Nelson beats up Bart after school and vows to continue
beating him up in the future. Bart goes to Homer, but Homer cannot teach him how
to beat Nelson. Neither can his grandfather, so Abe brings him to meet Herman.
Herman is a gun nut with one arm. He and Bart form an army of grade school
children to annihilate Nelson with water balloons. They train for weeks and beat
Nelson.
