Yes , but if its within the 3 yr warranty Microsoft will replace the console for free ( or fix it )

The good points of the console far outway the bad points and what makes you think the ps3 will be any different ? the ps2 had alot of troubles harware wise...(im on my 3rd one of the fuckers)

You cant really expect a console these days to last forever with constant use.

So you're saying Blu Ray is done with? Why is Blu Ray selling more then HD DVD?

It's still very early. Still to early to tell.

PS3, I haven't heard one thing bad about it hardware wise. Same with the Wii.

Sony and Nintendo needs to needs to start putting out games.

Why would I want to send my Xbox in 4-10 or 50 times into get fixed, A buddy of mine who has a 360 had to send it in a second time, and he didn't get it at launch.

You guys are trying to justify the shit hardware because the software is great. It's not poppin.

Imho this system is a failure.

As far as the ps2 goes, I had two, I blew one up myself, and it was my fault. Everyone I know has only had one system. Another friend of mine had to adjust the laser after 5 years. but other than that.

Ive had 2 i think (maybe 3) and 2 of my friends have had 2 and they all had the same problem which starts with a grindiing noise with trouble loading then the grinding gets worse and it refuses to load... If you google it you'll see its a common problem !

Also have you thought that the reason we hav'nt heard about any trouble from the ps3 and wii is because they've only been out a fraction of the time the 360's have.

Personally i dont give a shit which win the "Console war" because i plan on owning all three when they release some decent games.

the system may be a failure in your opinion, but it appears that its allways going to be the lead console between the 2.

the only thing sony will have going for it is the few in house exclusives that will be good. third party software is appearing that its going to be developed for the 360 first for the superior version, and ps3 later. and sometimes the other way around. example: Virtua Fighter 5. once slated as a ps3 exclusive, then slated as a multi platform, and then the 360 will end up with the superior version, reworked graphics, enhanced anti aliancing, and ONLINE PLAY!

seriously though, im curious as to why you jjumped down my throat with blu ray sales right off the bat without me even mentioning it.

besides the fact that nothing comes with a three year warranty,thats Awesome,besides they've changed the 360 and seem to be working it out,but are giving the extended warranty to everyone!

Well lets see, This whole br v hddvd battle has a lot to do with the current generation in gaming. If br does take off and at this point it is, M$'s hddvd player becomes worthless and the ps3 being a cheap br player makes it worthy, and not to mention as far as dvd players go, It's not a bad player at all.

Sony needs to put there exclusive titles out NOW or this system will fail soon. It's not a complete failure yet. There is no way in hell I would buy one anytime soon, mainly due to price, and there isn't one game I want to play on it yet.

Don't think this 3 year warrenty covers any other defects the system may have, as far as I understand it only covers certain problems.

Gears of War was great fun online, playing with friends. Really thats the only game I have played a lot on this system. VF5 originally wasn't going to have online support, That must be recent news.

Seriously, ask yourself this. If everyone you know, has had problems with there 360, Well at least 6 out of 7 people who have owned the system less than 1 year, some only 2 months are already having problems with there systems, Would you buy one? Knowing you will have problems?

I was pulling for the 360 for a while, but this whole fiasco with the hardware has turned me against em.

While I'm at it, The controller on this thing is shit also, Hurts the hell out of my hand after a bit, I have to use a mad catz controller instead, I think it's the buttons, I don't know.

Danimal if there were heating issues like the 360, You would have heard stuff by now.

In all honesty, I sure hope people feel the same as you about the 360, just so it stays around, and same goes for the ps3, I hope it doesn't fail, Imagine if one of those systems goes bye-bye?

i have had the ROD error on mine after about 8 or 9 months and i fixed it myself so i wouldn't have to send it back and risk getting a more fucked one in exchange.

All i did was open it (and void the warranty) and add a few pieces of eraser somewhere. it's been working for some weeks now so there.

this is just microsoft's anti piracy strategy
they know lots of their consoles will end up having that heating problem so they extend the warranty and do nothing about it (that's me trolling) for the moment. That way, only the ones who haven't opened up their box to change the firmware will be able to have theirs fixed by microsoft. It's not always the case though, as some people with modded boxes have had theirs taken care of...

blah, good idea from MS but i wish they fixed the problem permanently.

The sales on the ps3 have spiked recently and look at why.

Sony dropped the price from $600 to $500 for the 60gb ps3?

You can get them now for around £250 With 3 or 4 games i'd say that's good value.

Also , ive had mine since august '06 and hav'nt sent it in for repairs yet.
