Oh dear, has this turned in to a PS3 vs 360 thread?

I've got both, and my PS3 recently has got way more play time than my 360. The interface is better, the store is better, it's a ton quieter, multi-platform games (barring some of the first) are by and large equal on the 360 and ps3 and it has some damn fucking fine exclusives:

Ratchett and Clank - Beautiful game that happens to play fantasticly too, I had tons of fun with the jello gun creating platforms, and the disco ball making my enemies dance.

Uncharted - Without a doubt one of the best games of last year.

HEavenly Sword - Playing through at the moment, and yes, whilst it's short, it's fucking incredible fun.

Warhawk - One of the most fun online games I have played in ages, it's incredible.

MGS4 IS rumoured to be hitting the 360, but current rumours indicate that it'll be a year after the PS3 release.

Combine that with some truely excellent psn titles, which kick the fuck out of XBLA's 120mb limited game. Just check out Super Stardust HD, Calling All Cars, Tekken and the library of PS1 games that are cheap as hell. Add all that together and you have an awesome system that, with each firmware revision, is rivalling the 360. The only thing I feel it needs now is an in-game XMB friends list, which they've confirmed is being worked on.

And that's all without mentioning that it's an awesome Bluray player, great media center and kick arse DVD upscaler.

Which is more than can be said for the 360s built in dvd player.

I love the 360, but I feel the PS3 gets a bad rap.

I also own a PS3 and a 360 and my reasons for prefering the PS3 over the 360 stem from being able to enjoy the experience of playing the PS3 a lot more than the 360.

The 360 has a lot of amazing games, however the machine itself is a fucking joke. I'm constantly living in gaming fear that when I turn on my 360 I wont get the RROD, and I won't play the thing for any longer than 30 mins incase the thing explodes. Its taken all the fun out of using it.

Sure the 360 has loads more games, but what's the point when your console spends most of its life being repaired!


...of course my Wii with Mario Galaxy pisses over both of them!

i have a launch 360, thats on for at least 6 hours a day, playing or otherwise. i've never had any problems with it. i also own a 40 gig PS3. that gets played once a week or so w hen i can find some people for a game of warhawk or UT3. my wife owns a wii(and the overrated galaxy) that never gets played. maybe once a month when she has company over. thats about it.

for the record, i'll take "New Super Mario" over galaxy any day of the week. it's just a better game.

Give it time, it's got a lot more potential than the seriously size limited 360 xbla games. Also the store in general IS better, whilst the content may be more limited, the layout is better than the clunky market place layout.

Also your Wii should only be off if you've already completed Zack and Wiki and Mario Galaxy, oh and Paper Mario. Three of my favourite games from last year.

I dunno man. the PSN as a whole is kinda lacking currently. its all very basic. and its not integrated nearly as well as xbox live.

dont get me wrong, its great for free. but so far, i feel i've got what i've paid for.

plus with the whole "XNA" thing, those size restrictions are being lifted. add to that the ability to download AAA Xbox 1 games. like halo, and fable, and i think XBL is still ahead of the game.

I won't buy an xbox 360 till the "rrod" is resolved.I heard of two lorries in my area taking a combined load of something like 1100 xbox360s in for repair.But unfortunatley i don't have anything concrete on that.I hate the way that sony are chopping the british ps3 specs when they reduce the selling price in the shops.People think they are getting a better deal but its a 2 edged sword.Fine if you are ditching your ps2 collection but if you want to keep it you will have to keep your original ps2 as well.But the british version was originally only emulated unlike the american version having a chip for that task.

My new Xbox 360 arrived in the mail yesterday with a free month of Xbox Live *GOLD*.

I admit that when I first read this thread a while back I was like "well thats bullshit no one gives a way a 360 that can be fixed"

BUT

a guy I know from school was apparently selling off his games and I asked him why he said well I got the RROD and my console is out of warranty. I knew that he hadn't had it long enough for the 3yr RROD warranty to be up so I even told him that I'm sure he had more time to send it back.
He assured me that he didn't so I said I would take it.

When I got home I decided to see if he registered his xbox serial number online...he didn't. And when I looked it up its still under the warranty until August of this year. I called xbox support and 3 days later I have the prepaid box to send it back.

jus hope he didn pop the case and invalidate the warranty or u got urself a expensive paper weight there
