So..... Gordon Brown is playing pass the buck. He wants the Petrol Prices down but isnt willing to lower the tax, He wants the Oil companies to reduce the price of the crude oil (so they are making less £), put more money into research (so they are making less £), set up a fund for poor contries (so they are making less £) and still keep taxes at about 50p per litre.

Is it just me, or does Gordon Brown bear a striking resemblence to Cancer-man out of X-files?

Is Gordon Brown a Politician or a dodgy-looking money-grabbing actor? You decide!!!

Don't even mention Gordon Brown!! It pains me to think that at some point in the future, Tony "Blegh" will hand-off to that money grabbing shit and then we'll really be fucked!

It's now $5 per gallon here for diesel.

So yes, we are paying less than some parts of the world though not all. But we're feeling it much worse.

Just like 1980 - 1984. It sucked then and it sucks now.

Just wait guys. It will get a hell of a lot worse. Sure feels like the reagan era all over but with a retarded president.

National average for a GL of gas is $4. ... $4.10 cheap stuff, $4.20 meduim, & $4.30 for supreme here right now.

Wait another week when CM's (07/04/67 Old Bitch.. A year older than me anyway. ) b-day comes around. Watch it jump $0.15 or so a gallon ( I will truly be shocked if it doesn't ). Just in time for the holiday.

i think the biggest bitch we have is the rate of increase(over 4x in about a year)....we are already on modest incomes thanx to the cost of living hikes in the last decade....this last push sends us over budget no matter how much you tighten your belt....

i barely ever drive....what used to cost me 20 bux a month now shot to almost 90 with no let up in sight...this also drove up the cost of EVERYTHING.... so add it all together and the fact remains that we are getting poorer at a pace never seen before

so i know you pricks have always had high gas prices....and im sure when it rose to those prices your parents cried like little girls too...so shut the fuck up when its our turn to bitch

Also, in defence of those whining American pricks... Presumably the size of your illustrious nation and the distances between towns means you drive a hell of a lot further on average than UK peeps*

*Don't quote me on this, I made it up but it seems to make sense

Gee, how long did it take you to figure this out?

If I drove a 145 miles (233 km) in any one direction from say London, where exactly would that put me and how much of England/Great Britain could I cover? Yet that same distance east from my hometown puts me only two states over in Pennsylvania (where I pick up my products for fund raising twice a month) leaving approximately 45 other states left (not counting Hawaii or Alaska of course) Just to give a better reference, Ohio is about half the size of Great Britain. (approx. 40,000 square miles vs approx. 80,000 square miles)

Think about the distance products have to travel from the East Coast, or even further still, from the West Coast to the Midwest (Ohio) and the fuel cost for those deliveries (diesel here is selling at $4.61 a gallon) And you brits wonder why we're bitching.

You guys are getting screwed because of the outrageous taxing by your illustrious government. We're getting screwed simple because a bunch of tree-hugging, caribou fucking dumbasses with too much time and money have convinced most liberals in congress that drilling will hurt our environment. Check out the pic below of the t-shirt I'll be receiving next week in the mail:

I was agreeing with you, you Dingleberry! For people such as yourself it's probably a massive financial burden but the reason why I was talking averages is because I suspect there's just as many people complaining about gas prices in the US but still use the car to make a 1 mile trip to the shops - they're the ones who should cut their yap because your fuel is still way cheaper.

In answer to your other question... head east, I'll crack open a beer as you plunge into the sea. Heading north would probably get you fisted - THARR BE NEVERSOFTS!
