Arf, what if Watchmen sucks? 300 fucking sucked.
Let's hope this one is good, because it looks fucking wicked.
I've only watched one true Blu-ray movie which was Beetlejuice. It looked decent, nothing spectacular.
Some of the better rips I've seen would have to be Iron Man which was amazing in HD. My bro has the Blu-ray disk of Iron Man, I should compare the two.

I've watched a bunch of nice flicks in HD recently, even flicks you wouldn't think transfer over well were great (I actually realized seth rogan was in donnie darko watching it in 1080p).
On another note, who thinks all this 'bluray live' shit sucks balls, and are mostly horrid gimmicky features that piss all over what could be fun features? Just my two cents.

Nobody's mentioned yet that almost all Blu-Ray players are region-locked. There's a company in Peterborough, UK selling unlocked Panasonic players but I don't know if the Panny is any good to begin with?

WTF how can an old ass movie (good one mind you) have such class pic and audio?
Going to have to jump on the HD-DVD wagon there... Matrix, Bourne, even Mission Impossible. The only shit HD-DVD I have is Return to House on Haunted Hill, and that's really just because the movie itself is diabolical.
As for Blu-Rays, I guess Casino Royale, Day Watch/Night Watch and Pan's Labyrinth do it justice. The Terminator films look like VHS to me, and they didn't do that good a job with Halloween or Evil Dead II either. Even the reissue of The Fifth Element looked wanky.
I've not seen the Blu-Ray, although I intend to at some point, but the remaster of The Warriors is fantastic. The comic book sections aren't to everyone's liking (altho I dig em), but the quality of the print is sublime.
When you're used to a 4x3 crop transfer on TV that makes it look ancient, the new copy makes it look brand new. Brilliant film too.
