Disappointed?

OK I was running through ideas to go along with my Favorite Movie of All Time thread (which by the way was very popular..thanks) and what goes along better than to see what movie you all were so psyched to see and then it turned out to be a hunk of poopy or just not what you expected? Doesnt have to be a bomb at the box office..just has to be the most disappointed you've ever been at a movie...

One that comes to mind right off the bat is Final Fantasy, i'm a huge fan of the video games and excpected more out of the movie, the movie could have just been called The Spirits Within sans the final fantasy part and it wouldn't have been a bad movie, just not final fantasy calibre. it's not the most recent example, but i try not to really get hyped up on movies because a lot of them suck

The Ring. what a fuckin joke. after hearing for 6 months about it being the scariest movie ever made, this movie was hyped up by my friends like crazy. so i finally decide to watch it. absolute crap.

Thanks for the suggestion, Fuzz ... End of Days was really really awful given its previews.

There's some award website for these films, right? For films that really suck? One of the awards is for "most amazing trailer given the shittiness of the actual movie". I think Hollow Man won a couple years ago. So, End of Days didn't exactly have a great trailer, but I was still really looking forward to it cuz of Arnie, and then it blew goats. Without a condom.

well i did not enjoy it i thought it was gonna amaze me, all it did was bore me for two hours, i mightve enjoyed it if i seen it in theaters

Because the trailer made it look like shit, but the movie itself turned out to be much..much......MUCH worse

I now know why they gave me free tickets with my purchase of pizza, because they were trying to get rid of the (probably disease ridden) damn things :P

i agree with you. i could have fallen asleep a few times during that movie also, and i even went to the theater to see this one. glad i went to the matinee.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace!

after wait soooooooooo long to this movie (even watched a TMD Cam i was so deperate) i saw it an was *REALLY* disappointed! I went to watch it at the cinema to experience the best quality of viewing that i could.............but no such luck! Then i went to see it a second time...............still disappointed! All in in all a truly disappointing film! and sadly Episode 2 IMO wasnt up 2 scratch but was much better than Episode 1

My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I didn't watch it till it was on Direct TV, after all the $ it made and everything, and I was really dissapointed. I was expecting something really amazing out of the biggest money making romantic comedy ever... It was sub-par. Nothing but racist jokes... just "hah! they're so greek! its funny! hahah! they do funny wierd things!! hah! watch the americans react to the wierd things! hah!" it was retarded.... the best 2 jokes were ruined by the trailer... the "Can I Date your daughter? -- NOO!!!" and the tripped by the head piece thingy.... it was a real dissapointment after all the hype...

One time, my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

im never disappointed, because i presume everything will suck, and generally im right. i can only be surprised when a movie turns out to be decent. my line of thought is the best, ptang!

#1 Dean Koontz: Phantoms I saw that in the theatre, That movie made me read reviews, that was one of the worst movies of all time.

Scarface wasn't what it was cracked up to be, just not that good.

End of days like other people mentioned bored the fuck out me.

DreamCatcher sucked ass, it was a glorified mess, terrible. thank goodness i didn't go see it.

Star Wars Episode 1 for one reason That gay ass Jar Jar Binks, I wanted to kill that fucker.

Episode 2 blah

Episode 3 George you better not fuck this one up. Your track record is looking pretty bad.

Hell yeah. The first one, to my 15-year-old eyes, was an enjoyable little action/adventure flick based on a video game series that was still fun at the time. In the fullness of time I've come to see a number of gaping flaws in it, but it's still an enjoyable romp today, especially if I MST3K it with some friends.
