STUTTERING AVI FILE
reet this is prolly realy simple to you guys. i have dl some avi files and they are real jumpy almost like stuttering if you know what i mean, even when i convert them to svcd its the same is teh a way i can fix this ??.
Sounds like a Codec problem to me
More information please, what codecs/player are you using, what are the files DivX or XviD, what is the audio codec on the files etc etc
Make sure you uninstall any codec packs and only install those codecs you actually need.
Check your msconfig or Startup for programs that start automatically with every boot.
Disable quality enhancers in your decoder settings.
Could just be that your PC is a bit slow
check for the right codecs (as the above two said)
i recomed you use gspot to make sure you have the correct codecs installed
code:
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
go to the sticky post "mpeg4 modifier" ,you'll see a link to a guide that you may find very usefull..

VLC player has internal codecs, you could try that
