ok well sometimes i have this problem sometimes i dont ...to start off i extract the svcd mpegs with vcdgear ..merg them with TMPGEnc then i convert them over to DVD Mpeg with TMPGEnc once thats done i convert them to dvd with DVDLab sometimes halfway thru a movie the sound goes out of sync im thinking its when i merg them ...but im not sure i would like some type of solution to my problem i know some of you have this problem its not just me right???

Probably the easiest way is cut the last couple frames of the first CD, and first couple frames of last CD, using VirtualDub-MPEG2.

Sure you'll get a slight jump, but it's a lot less painless then mucking about with audio timing.

Why convert to dvd. Takes ages and you lose quality, does'nt make much sense. The easiest guide to follow for svcd2dvd is at the very end of this thread http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.ph...vd&pagenumber=2
Its the same as doom9's gudie just shorter and less programs to use. If you still want to convert by re-encoding to dvd then valentine has already given you the answer. Mpeg tools in tmpgenc will do the same job as virtualdub.

Edit : I forgot to add that in the above guide I have two corrections. When initially patching the svcd files change the horizontal resolution to 352, not 704 or 720. Also, always change the vobs back to native horizontal svcd resolution (480) when you have authored the files with tmpgenc.

It works because some releases clip their audio at half way then mux the files together during encoding. Sometimes usually during the last couple frames the audio does not end when the video does. When you demux and remux it merges the audio first causing the audio to start a few frames ahead when the second video is merged, therefore throwing it out of sync.

By clipping the last couple frames you ensure that the video and audio end at the same moment. How many frames depends on how far the sync gets thrown when the second CD begins.

Clipping the first couple of frames from the second CD is sort of a precautionary, but is usually unneeded. I'll usually do this if the 2nd CD is still part of a scene from the 1st CD. Effectively removing the entire scene so no one notices the jump. Obviously the scene has to be short and unneccesary to make this jumpless merge effective.

no it don`t every time i get that problem i use nero and never get the sync problem on the second half oh well only trying to help i don`t give a fuck i know it works

The guide Avenue_1 posted seems to work way better but when i load them into DVDauthor i get a GOP is too long ...will this effect it playing on some dvdplayers and why do i get this error??
