its about time. the screener was out for months, and that timer on it was so big. this is a good movie. sample looks great 9/9/10
I havent seen the sample yet, but according to the NFO, it says it has a still menu. Havent seen one of those on a SVCD release in a while. Good work TWC.

How are you rating the video and audio without actually having the movie????
burning
Hello ,
I'm having trouble with disc 1 ,
Extracted , burned but it won't play on my Starmedia DVD player ?
Some one said about a menu ? would that stop it loading disc ?
Thanks
Nope, probably the bitrate of the svcd is too hight that wont let you play it, or; you burned it wrong..
for any other inquiries please visit http://www.vcdhelp.com
Thank you-

Waited a while for a good copy of this, great acting by Deniro, and the guy who plays his son. Nice release TWCiSO...
9/9/10
Yeah, SVCD menus always cause problems for me on my Apex (Apex 3201). They'll play, but the audio will always be out of sync. These days I have to mount every image with Daemon Tools to check for an SVCD menu before burning, so that I don't have to go back and burn another fixed disc later.
Vcdgear will fix it, but if there are chapters, you need to first edit the cue file so it doesn't mention the chapters, otherwise vcdgear will create a separate MPEG file for each one.
After you edit the cue and extract, you'll probably have several MPEGs. One will be the movie, one will be the menu, and there may be one other extra tiny one. Just take the movie one and burn it as an SVCD in Nero, or build a new menu-less cue/bin in vcdimager or any of the GUIs for it.
the first disc of this (movie wise) i considered average, second disc on, de niro shows us why he's such a good actor, overall, better than average movie...nice release.....and as for the menu, if you didnt see it yet, you arent missing anything, really is pointless....
Menu didn't cause problems for me. I did have to press "Select" instead of "Play" to start the film though.
The quality of the Video is good, but there's an encoding problem present in some scenes that cause skipping of frames or background motion lagging. Most noticeable in the scene with the cop walking around the dead drug dealer and later when Deniro is driving by the body shop. Audio is good.
Movie: Not one of Deniro's best, but not his worst. His acting really shines in one scene towards the end, when he's pleading with his son. James Franco did a great job playing his son. It would've been nice to see Eliza Dushku step out of "bitch mode" for a minute to show she had some range, but she never toned it down. I felt the plot grew progressively complex to the point of being unrealistic. How many things can go wrong in a day before you just have to laugh?
