Yeah, SVCD menus always cause problems for me on my Apex (Apex 3201). They'll play, but the audio will always be out of sync. These days I have to mount every image with Daemon Tools to check for an SVCD menu before burning, so that I don't have to go back and burn another fixed disc later.
Vcdgear will fix it, but if there are chapters, you need to first edit the cue file so it doesn't mention the chapters, otherwise vcdgear will create a separate MPEG file for each one.
After you edit the cue and extract, you'll probably have several MPEGs. One will be the movie, one will be the menu, and there may be one other extra tiny one. Just take the movie one and burn it as an SVCD in Nero, or build a new menu-less cue/bin in vcdimager or any of the GUIs for it.
