Kill Bill Vol 2 - SCREENER - HafVCD

Picture: WS big "property of twdc" watermark almost looks like some kind of artificat strobing on the bottom.. also scrolling text below the pic,

Sound: Not the best, almost muffled soudning.

Think i'll stick with the telecine.

from sample: great video, audio ok (sounds one channel-ish)annoying "propery of" logo that i thought would disappear but came back after 5 seconds, so i would assume its in the whole film, and scrolling 800 number along bottom (in black bar region)

after viewing the sample there is a property of watermark and some scrolling text. decent rip, colors are just an okay screener. personally i can wait for the dvdrip since this doesn't satisfy me.

7/8/?

Sure we watched the same sample? Audio was shit on mine. Right channel was all like.. bleh and I heard popping and cracking. Maybe my headphones are going, but that's doubtful because Eternal Sunshine is going right now and it sounds great.

Indeed, "Property Of" logo in top lefthand corner, a bit annoying.. and wtf, a VHS widescreen source? Someone wanna explain?

Video was great for a VHS Scr.. if the sound wasn't so bad (for me, anyways).

Yeah, this isn't that great...i mean it's got good video, the sound is just ok, but i think the telecine is a lot better (even though the subs are partially cut off on it)..and i didn't care for this movie, so i'll also stick w/ the telecine

But seriously, can someone confirm this? It's from a VHS tape and the sample is in widescreen - not cropped. Is the whole movie this way from the VHS source?

Think Tarantino is gonna make a widescreen VHS?

doesnt look good at all
stick with the telecine

i dont know why you guys are all wary of the vhs source, it's rare, but not completely unheard of widescreen vhs screeners. just look back when all those academy screeners came out.

anyways, the quality is ok, doesn't look like this is a 1st generation tape, probably copied a few times.

6/6/9.

but when i output it to my tv, its a bit better

6.5/6/9

Thx for the awesome review jason.

Little below average screener pic. Sound is one channel. Movie was very disappointing.

Yeah, audio was nasty in the right channel. I think it'd actually sound better if you mixed the right channel down to nothing and then split the left audio to both.

This is a fine example proving all that glitter isnt gold. Telecines are usually (aswell as in this case) of higher quality than VHS screeners, yet these screeners are higher ranked in the hierarchy of releases. Not worth the effort, HafVCD, but that just my opinion.

think im going to stick with the telecine
just dont like all them watermarks
5/6/8 just my opion

Eek... talk about a fuzzy picture. And does anyone else notice that the sound is slightly out-of-synch?

Oh, and the .cue files are wrong.

Video: 6
Audio: 5
Movie: 9

Any particular reason why groups don't put the watermark/B&W switching information in their nfos? That can make or break a release for me.

Wow.... that is getting really old, you've made that point about 50 times. If there are any b/w then the people will say in the reviews. Why is it so important, do you sell them or something?

I won't grab a release that has B&W switching because I find it distracting, and will hold off until a clean offering comes along. Thanks for setting me straight though
