-- Man On Fire *NTSC* *DVD9* - DVDRIP - MSD (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=47329)
uh oh
Here we go (again) .....DVD-9s. Are people actually downing 8GB+? My sites don't even take them....and at $8/blank (when bought in pack, at that), I understand why.
MSD just give it up. dupe after dupe after useless rls. i dont think any1 wants these, im sure ur affil sites dont even like them. dvd9 is not here yet, so give up
This group is on crack. Plain and simple.
Well.
It seems that i may be the only one appreciating such a release.
Yes, i will prob get flamed for this but i'm sure, when in 6 months time everyone is leeching and burning DVD9 DL dvdr, 8gig download wont be such an issue.
If CENTROPY were to release a DVD9 - everyone would praise their a$$.
MSD - thanks for this release. I hope there are many more to come.
And before lamers say - go buy the original, i buy 10 to 15 DVD's a month from retail and online stores. I put my money back into the industry.
Come on people, you start to sound like my grandma, complaining for no reason. DVD9 is here stay. Have to start releasing at some point, right.
Stop asking "who's gonna download 9 gigs". 9 GB takes me 3 hours to download. No biggie.
you know as to go ahead and even try and download a file that big i would rather just go out and buy the real thing, after all by the time you have bought the disk and so on , whats the point.
Well some of us actually have plenty of space. Never too late to be the first. DVD 9 will be the standard by next year. We have no probs with MSD on our sites. Mega props i'll take a DVD 9 dupe over a zillion cams any day

MSD none of my sites. only one person i know who bought a dual-layer burner and i agree with the PMAtriedes that the discs, even in bulk cost waaaay too much for DVD9 rls's at this time. WAY too much.
bcool2k: you actually think this is gonna be standard next year? HAH! yeah right. the DVD-R scene just really, really started to take off just over a year ago. media for DVD9 is still gonna be waaay too expensive to be worth it when you can get reliable, long lasting dvd5 at less than 35 cents per disc. and who cares about stuff like foreign subtitles or extras (most ppl dont).
by the time the price on DVD9 burning media comes down, BLU-Ray and HD-DVD will be out and available (with both readers and writers out at the same time), anyway.
I personally could'nt give a toss about extras. As long as the
video and sound is excellent, dvd 5 will do me for next few years
at least.

Air1, you said how the dvd9s will drop price eventually, but by then the BLU-RAY + the HD discs will be out correct? Well think about it this way, when those are out, they will be the same price or more of the dvd9s are now, and the dvd9s will be the same as the dvd5. Am i right? I'm pretty sure we will go for the cheap discs, just like how cd-rs were before dvdrs, we would want the cd-rs first, then now the dvdrs price dropped and the dvd9s came out. Think about it first. I can be wrong, but just think.

Again....
Not everyone burns them to physical media. There is a thing called an HTPC (Home Theater PC), I can either stream it from another server or download it straight to my HTPC and go. No burning and no media required.
Also, if you think 8GB is bad, check out the HDTV posts, they are 10GB for just the movie...and YES people are downloading them.

yeah i agree , 8g is a massive file, i just can`t justify downloading something like that .it must be easier to rip of the original for the sake of the wait.
