I don't think it's the source. If the source shows up fine, then re-encoding it won't be a problem either. I know anytime interlacing shows up, people just don't know what to do. Reminds me of the Seabiscuit propers of last year (ironically, I believe CTP came through there also).

I am just shocked that proper after proper, groups don't check their releases. Oh well. The video store is less than half a mile from me, guess I'll be heading there.

Oh man... ShinBet just released another *nuked* "DTS Complete" proper. What is wrong with these people. First rate movie getting the shaft from third rate groups.

I'm almost starting to think that maybe something is up with the source?! How can this be going so wrong so often.

Its called 1 step proggies no one uses cce anymore everyone wants to do stuff the easy way and this is what we get a ton of groups with a good supply but shit for rippers. They should just release the dvd9 and let a real group encode it.

I think its the source, i dont think this many groups could get it wrong this many times, i dont rate shinbet or mptdvd, but Corrupt are a good group.

And CCE and Avisynth are pretty easy to use anyway, i think its more speed rather than lack of knowledge.

My confession of the day, I used to not know what to do with interlacing also. But then I found (separate from the Doom 9 CCE guides) a decomb article on Doom 9 a while ago:

http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/decomb.htm

It's dirt simple, and you don't even need any of those switches listed in the link (hehe, hopefully someone from Corrupt is reading this... Doubtful, but you never know ).

That's what I do for de-interlacing, if there are better way, please let me know. Learning is good. But this method worked great for my last 50 (approx) encodes so far.

IMO, I think this release goes down to knowledge over speed. I could have re-encoded this movie 10-15 times between all the propers.

BUT, if this is the source that's screwed up/protected, I wonder what they could have done different in the retail encode to make it "un-encodable". Hmm...
