If you love anime, you would've grabbed the subbed copy months ago, not a shitty dub.

NDRT Realese!!!

thats true i grabed the NDRT release which was a 2 disc, xvid and ac3 release and i think its so much better to just sit and watch anime in japanese with subs.

quality is ok compared to the NDRT release.

talk about a thoroughly offensive release...
a: dubbed
b: ONE cd (yeah yeah, blah blah blah rules, but cmon, this is a visually stunning film, and id keep my ndrt release over this one any day of the week)
c:... i dont think ive ever liked mdp... meh... lol i suggest getting the ndrt release, its definately worth it... or just buy the dvd, which im planning on doing when a special edition release comes out (which i kinda suspect there will be...)

Lol. Talk about elitism. Since ALL toons, anime or otherwise, are basically dubbed, the concept of watching a subbed version from preference is faintly ridiculous. Only my opinion mind. I could be wrong. So by way of an experiment, I plan to add english subs to an English version of the film Sin City to see if spending most of my time reading whats going on will enhance my viewing pleasure in some way.

Also, being a total newb I was planning to ask if someone would pm me the group this "nasty" Appleseed dub was posted to. Please. Even though I suspect this may break all kinds of sensible rules that I havent bothered reading yet. Ahem. Sorry about that.

its not an issue of reading whats going on as opposed to hearing the audio, its a matter of how poorly done the dub is... for the record it doesn't matter if an animated film is english and dubbed into an asian language, or the other way round, they are usually done VERY poorly, PLUS often the dubbed language isn't true to what the original audio was, where as subtitles usually give you the correct interpretation of whats happening...

so your sin city example is pretty silly, no offence, because its completely a different thing... unless you had an english dub of sin city, that was made by a chinese speaker who has poor english, and had to convert the chinese audio version of the film... which would mean most likely getting many aspects of the story wrong... and if youd rather listen to that, then read an accurate account of whats truely being said, then thats up to you

I agree Chiv. The Sin City example was deliberately made to be as silly as possible in the hope that no-one would take it seriously. Of course the real issue is the quality of not just the dubbing, but also the subbing. Shaoilin Soccer had the worst subtitles Ive ever seen. They were little more than gibberish. The dubbed version however was superbly done. I personally prefer a good dub to a good sub. Thats all i mean to say really. I would like to test my theory out on Appleseed, since I already have the 2 disk subbed version.... but I still cant find the single disk dub.
