-- WMP wont run! (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=62630)
WMP wont run!
for some reason, windows media player wont run. Cant really understand why, when i double click it, DVDRegion free starts up, but WMP doesnt and its not in task manager either.weird.
Dont use it as a player, but it means i cant view alot of streaming videos, which sucks.
Using XP home with SP2, and installed wmp10 to see if that worked, no such luck.
any ideas?
mine did the same today, reboot and reinstall, it's on in task manager in processes or wmp exe. is . reboot and cut it off first.somethings up with wmp 10 sounds like
believe that you can unistall ilt and reinstall it but if it fails you can always go to run and run media player clasic

Uninstall it, run a little "Registry Cleaner" to mop-up any fucked keys it leaves in the registry then reinstall... Should do the trick

finally found out how to uninstall wmp, just check the fucking "show updates" box in add/remove progs...sheesh
ran a reg cleaner, reinstalled wmp9, still no worky. fuck it. thanks for the help anyways chaps.
I suggest stop using WMP all together. VLC Player is a MUCH cleaner, less-intensive and more format-friendly media player. Playing SVCD/VCD/XviD/etc.etc...That + FFDSHOW (Codec Pack) and you'll never need to use that WMP garbage again. trust me, youll thank em later
the only thing i am having problems with is viewing media clips on web pages that require wmp, i normally use media player classic for movies etc.
is there a way to get your browser to use mpc instead of wmp for this purpose? had a look through firefox settings, no luck.
