Its not a usual R5 as in a reel transfer, Its a STV release so its actuall a real mastered dvd but just sourced from a russian retail so should have been labled as a DVDRip but the n00bs CAMERA didnt realise.

Camera release has a colour bar at the beginning of the release ... watched it on my laptop and had to bump it past the colour bar in order to watch it on the laptop .. haven't burned it yet, but wondering if on the stand alone you can bump it past the colour bar.

naw because this CAMERA release name as in the alphabet Bone Dry would be first before Rescue Dawn...... my philips see's it first as nero burns in alphabet order....hence why it puked on it as i'm watching the second movie burned alone on a diff dvd just fine

I had same issue with another movie Shoot.Em.Up.DVDSCR.XViD-CrackPots although the dvd loaded ok it was because a movie that came before in alphabet was ok and it played fine but when it was time to play shoot em up.......puke.......it just showed Loading and it never did load lol

I agree all the way--great quality! I'm halfway through the movie on the PC, and can't wait to watch the rest of it. I'm going to burn it to DVD first and finish watching it on the 50 inch.

V=10 - for an AVI.
A=9
M=9 - so far.

If you burn as avi not encode to dvd lemme know the results please as my DiVx standalone dvd player dislikes this release....and mine normally plays it all just 3 movies in over 500 that it won't play.....2 of which in just days wow......my guess is newb groups to ripping so they fooked up

I convert all my stuff to DVD/vob format before burning so it will play on any standalone. However you did pique my interest and I checked out this AVI with Media Info. Here's what makes this file unplayable for you and other people:

Codec : XviD
Codec settings : BVOP / Packed Bitstream
Codec settings/Packed : Yes

In comparing this file to other Xvid releases, it was this "packing" setting that stood out as being different. Here's what I found on it:

"Those who own a divX player know it : the latest version of Xvid leads to troubles if default options are used. The packed bitstream option makes the videos unreadable on standalone players. And in this case, there’s only one solution : reencode files..."
http://divxtest.surdvd.com/Xvid-and...-bitstream.html

Apparently some manufacturers have issued firmware upgrades for their standalone players so they handle this "packed" bitstream format. You might check and see if an upgrade is available for your model.

I myself have 2 standalone players I use MPEG4 Modifier ( http://www.moitah.net/ ) on any xvid/divx i download and remove the packets with this tools, only takes a min or so, there is a big thread over on http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=78050 that has plenty more info about it

This tool is a godsend for any standalone player user

Hope it helps

Darren
