Question Xbox

Does anyone know if there are any loss of quality when watching a dvd in the xbox ? I have heard there are but what i have noticed there are no loss. Could it that the ones i have asked are MS haters ?

it's shite. "loss of quality"? that doesn't even mean anything.

it's not gonna be as good quality as the bitstream being pumped directly into your brain, no.

nor is it gonna be as good quality as a £500 all-the-bells-and-whistles standalone.

but it's not £500. loss of quality compared with what, exactly?

i use my xbox for dvds from time to time i havent noticed any quality loss (i did once tho when i put mpg1 files on a dvdr and used my ps2, im guessing cuz it has to software decode the mpg1) and also when i used the regionfree dongleless player (sry cant think of the name atm) i was able to play off resolution dvds that work in pc's but not most dvd players
come to think of it, what u may b thinking of could b macrovision too, since if u run the xbox through a vcr it will get dark and light, dark and light (not a prob for ppl who have mod chips like me

no i have xbox and i have a £850 pioneer DV6868 and the pioneer blows it away easily but thats on a £2500 panny 36" widescreen, remmber the xbox dvd chipset cost like £13 so it aint going to b brilliant is it

quicker than using retail pressed ones, yeah, but if you use decent discs with decent reflectivity, you'll hardly notice it.
