I'm not aware of any Telecines that are capable of motion blur when there shouldn't be any, lol. Nor am I aware of any Telecines that are cropped and zoomed either, hence the incorrect AR.
actually, there are lots of zoomed/cropped telecines, they are cropping foreign subtitles... remember the russian TC's that were coming out a while back? and how you could randomly see russian characters at the bottom of the screen? they are zoomed in post-processing (in a program like virtual dub), but the full aspect ratio is there in the original PDVD. the aspect ratio is stretched to give it a more full-looking AR. plus, the flickering is caused by the telecine camera... think telecine cams don't exist? in fact, they were used in the 80's to do FILM --> VHS transfers on special screens, and similar cameras are being used in russia / france to rip these telecines straight from the silver screen. telecine cameras are not manufactured anymore, and havent been since digital transfers took over... see http://www.eglifilm.ch/images/hd/telecine-gross.jpg for a pic of a FILM --> DVD telecine machine
one point that might support your theory is the volume name is BLADE3TS... wierd...
imho, its an ok telecine, but it cant handle some of the action sequences. i saw it in the theater, it was worth the trip for the special effects.
video - 7 - off colors, very sharp, but the action sequences break up a bit and you see slight artifacting / lines / flickering
audio - 10 - perfect transfer
movie - 6 - meh, blade 1 ruled, 2 & 3 were a bit of a dissapointment... still enjoyed it in the theater tho
