Yep thats exactly what i was gonna ask.

To be honest tho i've been waiting for the reframed R1 releases as i had always intended on getting them to add to my collection.

Also does anyone else have a problem with the trailer on the BTTF 3 disk ? It doesn't play the audio score on the trailer!

So if you want the whole movie, you should get the non-widescreen edition????

I'm all for widescreen over P&S, Movies are intended to be watched with the ratio and shots the director intended, but not with this "soft matte" format I guess. Makes me think "soft matte" is just for widescreen snobs.

EDIT--

BUT WAIT...

With the BTTFs, the special effects were filmed with a "hard matte", meaning the 'black bars' were unremovable. The rest of the shots, however, were filmed with a "soft matte" - which is where the bars are put in place later on.

The widescreen contains the same amount of picture that people saw in theaters (aside from the messed-up 2 minutes in part II and 4 minutes in part III), but in non-special effects shots the fullscreen version will have a small amount of extra picture on the top and bottom, and less picture horizontally in special effects shots.

Does this we have to choose between the lesser of 2 evils?

I love the BTTF movies, but this sucks.
