Review: *exclusive* X2-Patrick Stewart
Given the green light, I am going to post this in here.
Boys and Girls, children of all ages, yes the Xmen are back and are they ready for action, this time a threat greater than Magneto is opposed against them, and its has the complete backing of the President of the United States.
Through an assassination attempt onto the president, the president unwittingly unleashes the full weight of the White House to attack Professor Xavier (once again played by Patrick Stewart in a role he was born to play) and his merry band of mutants, led by William Stryker (Brian Cox), a mysterious military leader with a score to settle with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and the adamantium he supposedly put into Wolvies body.
Yes there are many new mutants in this movie, and interesting subplots, Wolvie trying to find out about his past, and a romance story line with Rogue and Iceman( Anna Pacquin and Shawn Ashmore), and the attack onto the XMansion which leads to the eventual destruction of the Danger Room, Professor X's private sanctum to locate mutants.
Nightcrawler, Pyro, Shadowcat (whom we saw briefly in first film), Jubilee, Siryn, and Collusus makes up the roster of the new mutants in this film.
The Xmen and the evil mutants led by Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen) and Mystique (Rebecca Romjin Stamos) team up to face down the threat of William Stryker in perhaps the best sequel to hit the big screen since Lethal Weapon 2 outdid its predecessor.
X2 is a flamboyantly good movie, and should entertain all.
Film opens on May 2, 2003 and has yet to be rated.
My rating: a 9.5 out of 10.
