Ok I know i've said a million times before i would be leaving these fuckers but now they are taking the biscuit.
The traffic shaping is meant to take effect after 4:00pm but i've just noticed my connection speed drop by 75% at 3:45pm

I've done a little bit of research and now they have a fuckin daytime throttle too! from 10am to 3 am

They were fantasic until they introduced the throttling and now they're a joke. 20Mb connection? OHYES... But don't fuckin use it! I'm glad I'm with O2 (BeThere to all intents and purposes), they seem to be one of the few ISPs that haven't turned to shit.

Ditch them, they wont learn until they lose an assload customers.

I'm with freeola and do most of my downloading at night.Probably just aswell as i only get 30gb peak times between 8 am and 10pm but I get 300gb off peak.
Total 330gb

Quite happy with them really.

I don't download as much as i used to either.
Probably ran out of things that i wanted.

The thing that pisses me off is that BT don't even offer a similar kind of deal to the one described by olskoolife.

With BT, excessive usage incurs the peak hours restriction. Doesn't matter when the heavy usage is, only the total traffic is counted. Which is bollocks because if they only have a problem with fair usage during peak hours, why punish people who restrict their heaviest usage to off peak hours.

They're scum.

I think it depends how congested your exchange is. I don't get restrictions off peak even if I download all day but I do drop to 512k from 6pm - 12am even if I don't download a damn thing all day.

Yeah same here. That is because your line has been put on the restricted list. If its the first time, ring this number, 0800076044, tell them you didn't receive any email about fair usage and you want your line unrestricted. That should give you another month of unthrottled bandwidth, depending on how much you download over the month will determine if you get restricted again.

I speak the truth, I have managed to get my restriction lifted twice, once through pleading ignorance, the second by agreeing to sign up for another year, this is ok because I can get out of the contract at anytime simply by complaining about the throttling. I'm still working on a third.

Mine's a business line as well - you pay more but still don't get guaranteed speeds. What I need to do is stay clean for a month, download loads of shit from work so I exceed any restrictions and then complain that I can't work efficiently due to the traffic shaping and see if they can permanently lift it. I do work for them after all.
