Petrol prices!

All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

You will be really shocked by the last one!
(At least, I was...)

Compared with Petrol......

Think a gallon of petrol is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz £1.29 .. £10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz £1.19 ...........£9.52 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz £1.25 ......... £10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz £3.15 ...... £33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz E8.35 ... £178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz £3.85 . £123.20 per gallon

Tippex 7 oz £1.39 ....... . $£5.42 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz £1.49..£21.19 per gallon! £21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

You don't even want to compare it with perfume or after shave.

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at................
(you won't believe it....but it is true........)
£5,200 a gal.. (five thousand two hundred pounds)

So, the next time you're at the pump,be glad your car doesn't run on water, or Tippex, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!

Just a little humour to help ease the pain of your next trip to the petrol pump...

Admin?

The prices heaped onto UK drivers via various taxes is enough to put me off driving for life. I've had lessons and *can* drive (just not legally) but all I ever hear from car owners is how much it fucking sucks... Considering how rarely I make long distance journeys, I'll stick with public transport; it's hard to drive a car and play on the DS! Sometimes people mention the "freedom" that having a car brings but I'll stick with the financial freedom that not owning a car brings.

Good points though Butch, I remember Jeremy Clarkson pointing similar out... When you consider the lengths gone to in petrol production, it's quite cheap but cars are very thirsty

It's love baby!

Yeah, we are at $4 a gallon now here in the states, looking at $4.50 though the so called experts say we wont see $5 but I ain't holding my breath. Dropping an average of $60-$80 a day, 6 days a week average out to about $300-$400 a week. All thanks here in the states to dumbass environmental wackos and the democrats who refuse to allow us to drill for our own oil (Anwar, Dakotas, Western states including Colorado, offshore, etc.) Meanwhile, the fucking Chinese are drilling offshore 75 miles from Miami. Fuck the Caribou Moose and Dall Sheep, I want my gas at $1 a gallon!

Don't you have a creepy kidnapper van with curtains in the back windows.

I know you drive kids around or something ( diddler) as your job.

But how often is it just you in that bus alone..??
Probably %70 of the time..??

Not just you Clandy .. I see 30-50 soccer moms everyday driving Escalades and Yukons, without fucking kids in them. They are all fucked.

The One, The Only

FOr the people in the states: I have a business contact whose company just entered into a contract with BIG NAME OIL company, said oil barons just got guberment release to drill several new wells off coast in AK and in the arctic (despite the liberals crying to protect the polar bear). We'll see what it does for us.

People I know in the business are saying that our street prices will hit a national average of 6-7 dollars a gallon this year. I don't own a car now, but I am buying one in 2 weeks. I'll drive if it is 12 bucks a gallon and not bitch. WHy? because I'm too fucking lazy to walk across town and I can't stand the mong brigade who ride the public transport here, and taking a cab is the same or more cost to drive it my own damn self.

I just started using public transit to commute to work in the U.S. instead of drive and so far i like it. Being able to space out for an extra 15 minutes on the way to work is fucking gold

The way every person commutes here by car and no one carpools or generally gives a shit is so wasteful. There are millions of douchbags riding around in big empty 4x4 v8 pickups.

Transportation in general blows here. The whole west coast was planned out assuming fuel would always be cheap and it is really starting to suck ass with the ever climbing costs.

But I will address your questions since they contain some form of borderline intelligence.

I use my van for work therefore I have no choice. I currently have no other vehicle to drive (which will be rectified with 2 weeks, currently have approved financing at two local dealers, just have to decide which vehicle and how much I can afford) so I have to use the van (15 passenger Ford E350 Club Wagon XLT with a V-10) for personal use though with the high gas prices I plan out my errands, both personal and business related, at the same time (ie. my personal and business accounts are now at the same bank which means only one trip to make deposits to the same location) And yes I do work with teens, usually 10-15 a night which is why I need a large vehicle. The more teens, the higher the sales, the more money earned. Which is why I currently can afford the gas, though it has eaten in to my profits. I may, after just raising the prices 2 years ago, have to increase the prices of our fund raising products to offset the cost of the higher fuel bills. Which is what everyone in business is doing though most average U.S. citizens are just realizing this now.

The problem we have here in the states is a lack of decent, efficient, and available mass transportation. Urban sprawl has contributed to this problem, but with the way most local governments here run, it's no surprised that this is fact. The nearest bus stop where I currently live is over 3 miles away, on a busy road no less, and forget about using any public transportation to go to ANY of the places I do my shopping and business related activities. It doesn't exist.

Quite the opposite. In fact we're heading to a cabin (Hocking Hills) the weekend after next with another couple. And she will be over all this weekend for a health serving of some of special candy.

Just tired of threads like this one being hijacked with stupid replies or flames from ignorant people. Pretty sure this was covered before but seems a few people missed class that day.

Back on topic, seems that the Republicans in Congress are pushing extremely hard to get the dems to agree to drilling in Anwar. Maybe too little too late, but with an average of 1 million additional barrels a day (estimated amount out of Anwar) we EVENTUALLY may see a downturn in the price.

Thinking about it, the one place this raise in crude price has hit me the hardest is my blank media.

Optical media prices have doubled and in some cases almost tripled.

cheaper fuel won't help shit in the long run.

The more expensive fuel becomes the more likely the u.s. government will lay down the meth pipe and properly endorse sustainable transportation alternatives that don't force us to be dependent on foreign oil cartels.

The long list of problems caused by oil dependency WILL be dealt with eventually. Either with the whole lot of us kicking and screaming like animals or using our heads and designing a solution.

Get the fat outta your ears. Or the Red Pubes.

I made a valid point about Large vehicles being driven by single people(Usually Fat ones).

I even stated that I knew you had a valid reason for needing your bus. (Pedophilia)

You have a large vehicle -- sometimes you drive it alone. A lot of people in the US have huge useless SUV's, and they drive them alone 75% of the time.

Hey look -- I even posted Crude prices up above.

All flagrant off topic flames.

You keep poking that Cheddar hole my friend. ~shudder~
