You know, I have to say, if your father is trying to sell you for cash, you probably should be placed in some better living conditions with a family who can afford to pay $300,000 for a kid. But secondly, if this guy’s saying he has “nothing,” don’t you think he’s being a bit greedy? I mean, I’m not incredibly well versed in Indian economics but I’m guessing $300K there would probably make you ruler of your province or something.
So yeah, this is super ****ed up, and hopefully Danny Boyle will let this kid come live at one of his six mansions or something.

Saw the father was denying it all and the two mothers, her real and step, going at it on camera choking each other up lol.

Either way fucking sad really. I heard though that the producers or director had setup some type of trust fund for each of the children actors. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

It is true. Do not question the authenticity of The News of the Worlds 'Fake Sheikh'. All joking aside, the fake sheikh has caught out numerous greedy cunts in the past and all stories eventually proved to be true, Fake Sheikh . I believe this slumdog story to be factual.

Do not confuse The News Of the World with The Daily Sport.

News of The World is a legitimate source of news, albeit a condensed and biased one. It is actually accountable for the stories it prints and is bound by libel* laws, its stories may be embellished and exaggerated at times but they are based upon fact.

I don't care if the OP turns out to be true, but anybody with more than five firing neurons knows that a typical "exclusive" in the News of the World is about as valid and newsworthy as the Mystic Meg column.

4 stories out of thousands turned out to have been embellished or exaggerated. So the odds are firmly in favour of the buyable slumdog story being true. Just as Wayne Rooney shagging grannies turned out to be true and John Alford being a crack dealer turned out to be true and every other story apart from the few you mentioned turning out to be true.

I don't read the news of the world, on the rare occasions I get out of bed on a Sunday I will buy a Sunday Mail.

This story may have originated with the undercover News of the World reporter but has since been picked up by

The Times

and

The Daily Mail

I'm not gonna check the Guardians version of events, it'll probably be along the lines of "Racist BNP supporting News of the World scumbag tries to bribe poor innocent poverty stricken Indian Family into handing over daughter"

I much prefer one of the witness statements picked up by a Journalist for The Times.

The probe concluded that the dad did accept an offer of payment for his daughter but the police found evidence that the news of the world reporter instigated the deal.

Sooooo, sorry if I sound smug but it seems the story was true after all. The dad may not have sought out a buyer for his daughter but he sure as shit was ready to accept the offer made to him.

This story is very embarrassing to India, the cops woudn't want to charge the dad and have this played out in court.
